Johnny U would do just fine with today's rules. So would several other greats of that era. Why people think they wouldn't pick apart defenses the way a Manning, Rodgers, Brady or Brees does is beyond me.

Yeah, it's definitely a different game then I grew up watching and sometimes you have to put some of the gaudy numbers in perspective. Just looking cross at a QB is a flag in this league.

Maybe I'm biased but the best QB I have ever seen play is Roger Staubach.

That would be a very good choice as well. Every lead was in danger when Staubach was the one leading the comeback.

Aaron Rodgers: This guy's QB rating is scary good.

Peyton is good I got to see a lot of him in Tampa, Florida where the Volunteers played most of their bowls when he was in college, but he is no Tom Brady.
Only if you are counting Super Bowl wins.

I'd also like to see what some of the yesteryear QBs could do with today's rules. How many passing records would be falling today if the DBs were allowed to mug them the way they did in the 70s.

I wonder what guys like Jack Lambert would think about today's defensive rules? :D

If we are judging them by their prime years, just how they played at the peak of their powers: John Elway.

He could scramble, he was big, he was tough, and he had a cannon for an arm.

Elway was still a very good QB, but the height of the Broncos during his era he was really at the tailend of his prime...he carried the team a lot of his prime years, but Terrell Davis was the catalyst when they won the rings.

It's a close call for me who's the best ever I've seen.....

It's definitely between Brady,Manning and Montana.....

I may have to give the nod to Brady. He has put up some huge numbers and have won some SBs on top of it.

Manning has out up record breaking numbers and been to two SBs,but seems to choke quite bait in the playoffs.

Montana never put those type of numbers as the other two,but man was he money.....

But yeah,I'm going with Brady. He's putting up numbers and wins with no wr corps.Unless you count Gronk......I wonder what Brady could do in Denver with that rec. corps and vice versa with Manning in NE.

I think it's Rodgers, but I'm still sour on him for pussing out against Sherman.

Dan Marino
Peyton Manning
Joe Montana

In that order. Marino was on a different level, if he played today, when you can't hand check a receiver past 5 yards, can't have a safety decapitate a receiver as he catches the ball, touch a QB running if he slides, can't get a pound of stickem on your hands as a DB, and can't blow on, let alone blow up a QB in the pocket, Dan's 5000 and 48 would be 6000 and 60 today
