Seeds are from Ranking the Heisman Trophy Winners of the BCS Era on NFL and CFB Success

*Bush is not included on the list, so I put him at #16. Completes the bracket. Ranking is also by their CFB and NFL careers, but it is the best list I found.

Vote solely based on their Heisman winning season.

This Week (Wed-Sun)

This Thread - #2 seed Ricky Williams (1998) vs #15 Jason White (2003)
Other Thread - #7 seed Ron Dayne (1999) vs #10 Matt Leinart (2004)

No repeat matchups in this bracket (winner of 1st matchup wins). Loser of semis goes for 3rd.
Higher seed wins tie breaker.

Why are we even debating this? Give it to Cam and let's move on.

He doesn't count, he was a cheater and a criminal. This is way too important to not have standards, sir.

40 touchdowns to 10 interceptions is insane. JW had one of the most prolific season in history.

I doubt that's even a top 25 season since the BCS era, if I had to guess.

In '13 Jameis Winston also had 40 & 10. In '14 Marcus Mariota had 42 & 4.

The first thing I think about Jason White is when he was called offsides inside the 5 yard line. It was the first time I have seen a QB be called offsides. He was under the center and the call was a QB sneak. What was funny was he was running into the back of the center, and the center was not budging, or at least that is how I am remembering it.

I think it was his senior year though as I remembering thinking, "This guy won the Heisman?" But it could have been the bowl game as well. I cannot find the clip.

I think I found it in a game summary but not quite sure. 2003 Big 12 Championship vs KState. It was 3rd and 3 around KSU's 35, not goal line. There was an offsides call, but not sure if it was White. Found a video of the game but not finding it.

Never mind. Not this game. It was a KSU penalty.

Jason White did everything on 2 bad knees.

I understand that, but it still isn't one of the best season in history. Hell it's not even top 5 Oklahoma seasons since the BCS. Bradford was better in 2007 and 2008, and all 3 of Baker's seasons were better IMO. Nothing against White.

Ricky Williams was the only RB on the Heisman list. He nearly had as many rushing yards as one of the QBs in the Heisman race that year. Ricky Williams was #1 in rushing yards and rushing TDs.

Jason White was #10 in passing completions, #7 in passing yards, 2nd in Pass TDs

2 NFL starters.

So what? This thread isn't about the NFL.

-White in '03: 3,846 yards / 40 TD's & 10 int's / 61.1% / 158.1 rating
-Winston in '13: 4,057 / 40 TD's & 10 int's / 66.9% / 184.8 rating
-Mariota in '14: 4,454 / 42 TD's & 4 int's / 68.3% / 181.7 rating

Comment # 10: "JW had one of the most prolific season in history"

That's true but Winston & Mariota had better Heisman winning seasons.

His comment isn't even true in my opinion. It was a good season by White, but certainly nothing special to call it one of the best in history.
