Seeds are from Ranking the Heisman Trophy Winners of the BCS Era on NFL and CFB Success

*Bush is not included on the list, so I put him at #16. Completes the bracket. Ranking is also by their CFB and NFL careers, but it is the best list I found.

Vote solely based on their Heisman winning season.

This Week (Wed-Sun)

This Thread - #4 Seed Jameis Winston (2013) vs #13 Seed Mark Ingram (2009)
Other Thread - #5 Seed Carson Palmer (2002) vs #12 Seed Chris Wienke (2000)

No repeat matchups in this bracket (winner of 1st matchup wins). Loser of semis goes for 3rd.
Higher seed wins tie breaker.

I will admit, I think the 2009 Heisman race had better players than the 2013 Heisman race.

2009

1. Ingram
2. Gerhart, Stanford
3. McCoy, Texas
4. Suh, Nebraska
5. Tebow, Florida

2013

1. Winston
2. McCarron, Alabama
3. Lynch, Northern Illinois
4. Williams, Boston College
5. Manziel, Texas A&M

Mark Ingram is the only reason Alabama won a national championship that year. We really had no offense at times without him.

The majority of his yards were after contact.

I am completely lost with this. In my opinion Winston is far and away better, but how are others judging this?

A buddy and I did a 32 person bracket (seeding only) just for fun out of boredom really, these were our seeds....

Seed 1-16 on a 32 man bracket.

16s - Eddie George and Andre Ware
15s - Matt Leinart and Mark Ingram
14s - Derrick Henry and Eric Crouch
13s - Tim Tebow and Reggie Bush
12s - Carson Palmer and Jason White
11s - Desmond Howard and Chris Weinke
10s - Charles Woodson and Gino Torretta
9s - Ty Detmer and Troy Smith
8s - Vinny Testaverde and Rashaan Salaam
7s - Ricky Williams and Danny Wuerffel
6s - Sam Bradford and Baker Mayfield
5s - RG3 and Ron Dayne
4s - Marcus Mariota and Lamar Jackson
3s - Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston
2s - Charlie Ward and Bo Jackson
1s - Barry Sanders and Cam Newton

A lot of these could be switched around, but this it was harder than you think... other than making Sanders a #1 seed. That was pretty easy lol.

I left out Tim Brown in order to put Bo Jackson in... felt wrong having him left out by one year.

I put Eddie George at a 16 seed because Frazier should have won it lol. Call me biased.

You didn't even get the order of the Auburn winners right. Bo > Cam in every fucking way.

Yeah Gerhart got completely screwed out of the award that year.

Yeah Gerhart got completely screwed out of the award that year.

How and why? Because he had a few extra hundred yards against much worse defenses?

Ingram had like 1000 yards after contact.

Bo is something special no doubt, but Cam is an incredible athlete in his ow right and in my opinion is the SOLE reason Auburn had any chance of even being talked about in that 2010 season. Without Cam, I think there was a real chance Auburn could have had 8 losses. But with Cam they go undefeated and win a NC. I can't say that about Bo as I never saw him play (only highlights). Bo was an incredible athlete as well, but without him does Auburn lose more than half their games, idk. But again, Bo wasn't supposed to be in the bracket as it was the 32 most recent... it would have started from Vinny T from Miami in 86
