'Bama didn't think it was fair to hold that kind of advantage over Oklahoma, so they chose Miami to make it more fair! lol. Seriously, on the Selection Show, Rece Davis (IIRC) stated that Alabama chose Miami to avoid it being an advantage for OU. That is what I heard. Whether it is accurate or not, who knows?

IMO, it doesn't matter either way. Both Alabama AND Oklahoma play big boy ball and where the game is played does not matter. In Alabama's case, under Saban, they have won National Championship Games @ Pasadena (vs. Texas), @ New Orelans (vs. LSU), @ Miami (vs. Notre Dame), @ Phoenix (vs. Clemson) and @ Atlanta (vs. Georgia).

Yep, that is what I heard on the Selection Show! I have not heard anything since then. I did anticipate this though. Once Michigan lost, I assumed that Alabama would be switched to the Orange Bowl if OU was the #4 seed. I would have preferred it in Dallas, but I do think it makes sense for the game to be in Miami - since Alabama is the #1 seed. I also think if OU was the #1 seed, and Alabama was the #4 seed, the game would definitely be in Dallas. So, being the #1 seed has advantages.
