With basketball officially (sort of) starting today what are your team predictions:

Leading scorer?
Leading rebounder?
Assists leader? [VINE][/VINE]
Steals leader?
Blocks leader?

& How many?

I read the quick article on HawkCentral, sounds like they were a bit underwhelming in the game today, and Fran was not thrilled. Also sounds like hand checking is now an automatic foul, which will be interesting. Iowa shot 50 free throws in the game due to this; wow, can you imagine that called in the NBA, you would have 4 hour games.

I think its a good sign when we drop near 90, win by 20+ and its considered a disappointment. I remember exhibition games during the Lickliter era where we had trouble breaking 70. LOL

I haven't seen the boxscore from the game, but it sounds like Iowa is still struggling from the perimeter, which was a weakness of the team last year. I just hope Oglesby works out whatever issues he had last year because if we can't get that outside/inside game going it will make defenses cheat down on our bigs.

Guess we shouldn't look too much into it, it was an exhibition after all and Clemmons didn't play at all.

Iowa was something like 2 for 18 from 3 point land...really bad...and coming up trip to the Battle 4 Atlantis, we need to get to the final 4 of that if not the final game vs KU to consider that a good trip IMO...better get a can opened up on em now and do well in non conf, go Fran!

Jerry Palm already has his 'bracketology' prediction...Iowa in as a #6 seed playing #11 Akron...in the South.

Interesting...to say the least

I see Iowa being higher than a 6 seed, but I would love to beat the Zips in the first round..

Aaron,

I see Iowa higher than a #6 this year as well. For a program coming off of an NIT championship game finish, this is about right in my opinion. I think Iowa is worthy of a preseason ranking in the top 25 (#'s 21-24). Can't wait to see this team put things together and start dominating people. Gotta hunch that Coach Fran likes to blow teams out!

After watching this team all my life, I'm gonna get some games under my belt before getting too excited about this year. Been let down by the U of I waaay too many times.

I agree, but this team has a special feel, hence me buying season tickets.

Didn't miss much, that wasn't much of a "game" at all, more like a scrimmage between the varsity and JV teams.

Are Woodbury and Fiedorwicz related? They seem to have the same pussy genes. I don't think I've ever known a 7'1" human being who can't dunk a basketball but Adam proved me wrong last night with that no-look from Marble.
