They're afraid that if a player gets Covid and has a bad outcome, the University will get sued.

Additionally, we know it's not about player safety because they are now looking at them having to play 2 football seasons in one calendar year.

That said, here's hoping a spring season can actually happen and isn't just a ploy their using to fill us with hope so fans don't totally go ballistic on them.

Michigan isn't canceling classes. I suspect the football players will still be on campus, taking classes and getting tested for some allowed workouts/practices when the planning begins for what's next.
