Your guess is as good as anyone's. Will a better facility = better talent?

One thing's for sure, the person in charge of the trophy case has the easiest job in Nebraska.

LOL.

I'm kind of indifferent about the arena.. hope it brings some decent shows to lincoln, but Omaha's only an hour away.

Kind of the opposite situation here huh?
Dave Van Horn's success with the baseball program was what made Hawks Field a neccessity. It was a reward and intended to keep him around.

The arena is being sold on if you build it, it will bring in the recruits.

This is different though... It's a "haymarket revitalization project" so it's not just the arena. More places to shop, much better looking downtown etc. Recruits like town atmosphere too which will be majorly upgraded.

It's amazing really...... You see all these people (mostly with grey-blue hair) complaining about tax dollars and what not being spend to make Lincoln look better..... yet they have no problem spending 1000's of dollars making their yards look better......

The project is GOOD for Lincoln- forget about the athletic department.

2 percent tax...... and maybe 100 on your property tax isn't a big deal, let your city improve itself for the next 30 years.... you're gonna die in 10 anyway.

Yep, they're all gonna die in 10 years so they don't give a shit about our next 30. I don't understand people who are indifferent about it either. There are out of state students who will be gone before the arena is complete who don't care, and I sort of understand that. But anyone who lives in lincoln, likes sports, and likes having fun things to do is a god damned fool if they don't want this 100 percent.

I think it'll be great for Lincoln, I just hope it books right away and doesn't slow up by concerts playing in Omaha

I'm tired of people saying "There's nothing to do in Lincoln besides go to football games." This is a step in the right direction.

The arena will pay off.....as far as revenue goes. I'll be honest though I'm more interested in winning games than making money. I'd pay a good chunk of my own yearly salary if it meant bringing in recruits.
