I was pretty blown away with how well Romo did in his first real shot at calling a football game. He seemed like he's been doing it forever. His inside knowledge was really good and he nailed it a few times when he blatantly called what was going to happen before the ball was even snapped.

I've never been a Romo fan but I'll give him credit where it's due. He might have a solid career as a TV color man if he keeps calling games like that.

I'll take "Topics I was never expecting to see on the NFL Forum" for $1000, Alex.

Romo is very football savvy. TBH I am surprised he never went into coaching with that talent he has. I guess getting paid millions to be a commentator is a good gig too.

You need to take a better look at him on paper. And, before you start smack talking about "no SB's, etc., don't forget players like oh, I don't know, DAN MARINO.

Jeez, look at the Kermit smilie. It's a fuckin joke. I've been following Romo since he went to Eastern Illinois at the same time my daughter did.

Bout time he's impressive at something besides golf

As long as he doesn't trip over a microphone chord and get put on IR for the year I think he should continue to do pretty good as a color guy. Reminded me of a cross between Gruden and Collingsworth.

You just never know with a Packer logo on your profile, and if you're a Romo fan, you wouldn't let my post get under your skin.

The post didn't get under my skin, it was your comprehension of my intent.

PS I didn't say I was a Romo fan. Although I did win more than a few FF championships drafting him in the 7th or 8th round.

lol. I like both those guys. They always give you that inside knowledge that other commentators don't give and they seem to really enjoy it and don't mind explaining it so that even non-football fans know what the hell they are talking about. Without Gruden how would we know about "Spider Y banana"?

There were times when he talked a little too fast trying to get football points across and occasionally his voice got lost in the background sounds... but his ability to read keys and know what was coming by both the Raiders and Titans defenses was excellent. He was damn good.

I'm not sure if I like that.

Why not? I thought it was pretty cool for Romo to say "this looks like a play action pass to the right coming up" and then that's exactly what happened. He's either a good guesser or he's good at seeing the field and the line ups and he knows whats coming. That's impressive. Gruden and Collingsworth are good at that too.
