Andrew Luck is now the highest-paid player in the NFL.

Luck signed a five-year contract extension with the Colts that keeps him in Indy through the 2021 season, the team announced Wednesday. A source informed of the contract told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that the extension pays Luck more than $75 million over the first three years and slightly less over the next two.

You have to pay to play anymore these days. Just the cost of doing business. I cant even say after they sign Kirk that that's insane... because its just what the cost is these days for a decent QB.

This is why KC wants 20m per season Redskins have a better shot in making the playoff than the Colts this year. Think about it.

i don't know why certain posters are panicking. we have enough cap space next season to resign KC to a long term deal.

IM not panicking, but reality is that its not about cap space. In the past 5 years, multiple teams have been willing to give up multiple draft picks in order to draft a ROOKIE QB with no track record. Do you really think, if Cousins performs well enough to deserve being tagged again, some team that needs a QB wouldnt give up two first rounders for a some what proven QB at that point?? We gave up three firsts and a second for a kid who had not taken a snap. So if Kirk performs the way we hope, we either lose him, or we use the exclusive rights tag which is almost $30 million.

kind of crazy right? the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, yet luck has never had a season like KC did in 2015...

KC gonna get paid, as he should.

You have said that twice about Luck. In 2014 he had 4700+ yards and 40 TDs. His completion percentage wasn't as high and he threw 5 more INTs but to say Luck has never had as good a season is false. I like Cousins but lets be tell the truth.

It is the truth. Andrew Luck has never had a season where he had a 69.8 completion percentage, 70.1 QBR and a Quarterback rating of 101.6 with over 500 pass attempts in the NFL…FACT

You want truth? Morgan Moses would be a better QB than Kirk. That's why he was drafted a round ahead of him
