Comparing Cam to Luck is ridiculous IMO. I don't understand why some teams pay their QBs like they are great when they aren't.

That's right. Luck is a hundred trillion times better than overrated Cam Newton. The comparison is ridiculous.

One injury-plagued season doesn't change that.

Exactly. Cam is not a threat with his arm like Luck is. If you take away Cam's athleticism (Father Time will eventually do this) he isn't a starter in the NFL. You can't say that about guys like Wilson or Luck who are actually pretty athletic themselves but the point is that they don't need to be to be successful.

Isn't it basically the same situation as Wilson, but some are proposing because Sea isn't doing anything that they may not keep him? Personally I view Luck as different than other players. I lock his ass up and don't let him go. Guy will go down as a superstar all time elite QB IMO.

Colts team-building effort has been below standard for several years, that is not Luck's fault (no pun). Imagine Andrew on a solid team... I'd take him in a heartbeat, although not fond of those beard hairs he tosses at people in the TV commercials. Yuck.

The same reason the cowboys signed Romo to that ridiculous contract. Cause its better to have Romo/Cam then Mccown/Smith/Orton/Cassell/Fitzpatrick/ etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

They signed Tony Romo to a big contract, because stat wise, he's better than Staubach or Aikman

Luck is a damn good player, but the team around him has been average at best.

You gotta cut the guy some slack though, he was the 2nd best qb selected in his draft class

There are many reasons why Luck was the 1st pick in his draft. His expectations are enormous, considered to become the best QB in NFL history.
As long as his play on the field is not a factor, his contract should be the largest in NFL history by a long shot.
