I've never watched Breaking Bad but I did hear that the last episode/finale was an homage to John Ford's The Searchers starring The Duke.

If you've not seen that movie, it's a classic and extremely worthwhile. Back in the day it didn't receive much fanfare, but is now considered one of the most influential movies ever made, and one of the best not very many people have seen.
