Amazing Stat for Alabama Football

Yesterday I heard that every five star recruit for Saban at Alabama has become a first round draft pick. That is one of the most amazing stats I have ever heard. No wonder they just keep reloading.To just develop all of your five star recruits enough to get drafted would be an accomplishment but to see them all get drafted in the first round is mind boggling. Hope some day Notre Dame can say the same thing.

When I was watching the coverage on ESPNU covering NSD I heard the people on there and they discussed it many times. This is what they said. It seems very difficult to fanthom. I believe I am working what they said correctly but it was something of that ilk. I am not positive how far it went back but either way I thought it was pretty amazing. Wonder if anyone else heard them talk about it. It was a panel with three or four people discussing the recruits and how teams rated. They specifically said all were first rounders. That I remember for certain.

If it was Finebaum (sp), he probably also said that the ones that werent first round picks all ascended into heaven. Followed closely by the LSU five star players.

Of course many of those Alabama players don't amount to a whole lot in the NFL.

Alabama will be the best, again
Alabama is in line to sign the No. 1 class in the country for the third straight year. ESPN has given just 15 recruits in the country a five-star rating this year, and five of them are committed to Alabama.

Every draft-eligible top-15 recruit to pick Alabama under coach Nick Saban was eventually selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

Alabama has nine recruits who are ranked in the top three at their position nationally, including both the No. 1 and No. 2 centers. The Crimson Tide have commitments from players ranked first or second in their state from nine different states, including the top two players from the state of Alabama.

Alabama has had the top class since Aug. 14 and has not relinquished that spot in ESPN’s evaluations.

even if its 75% thats amazing. I think the last couple of years our 5 star recruits have been drafted. Te'o, Floyd, Clausen. We aren't at their level but we have done ok with 5 star recruits as of late.
Here are our 5 star recruits from 2007:

Clausen: 2nd rd pick
Crist- Miss
Rudolph- 1st rd pick
Floyd- 1st rd pick
Te'o- Drafted 2nd rd
chris Watt- Will get drafted
Tuitt- 1st or 2nd rd pick
Lynch- Left but had a great freshman year when he was here. Will get drafted this year
I. Williams- Miss here but wouldn't shock me if he is drafted next year in late rds
Koyack- Might get drafted next year depends on how he does this up coming year
S. Day- TBD
Nyles Morgan- This class.

So overall its not that bad.

I disagree here are some misses from Bama.

QB- Phillip Sims
LB- nicco Johnson 4th rd

These are 2 5 star recruits that either didn't get drafted or got drafted after the 1st.

When I found the article and was able to read it, it said top 15 recruits. I heard the story on ESPN or ESPNU and found the article later on Google. Either way it is pretty good player development. I just hope we can start land more of those high echelon recruits. We already have Hoge for next year and he's pretty highly touted. In the end Barnett may be too.

Tillery as well, all three are going to be highly recruited, 3 players in espn jr300.
