Unconscionable that JD and Balfour are left off the team, considering what they've meant to the team, our record, and their stats. Hiding behind "there's not enough room for everyone" like Leyland surely will is a cop out; he just plain out dissed the A's for his own players.

I'm dumbfounded that these 5 relievers made the All Star squad ahead of Balfour. Sure, they're all good and having nice seasons, but Balfour omitted for all of them? WOW!

The American League's five are all relievers: Detroit's Joaquin Benoit, Toronto's Steve Delabar, the Yankees' David Robertson, Texas' Tanner Scheppers, and Boston's Koji Uehara.

Is it lost on anyone that the only A's player that was picked to play is also a former steroid cheat? So while I agree that Donaldson for sure got jobbed here, what does it say of MLB that Colon is getting this honor?

Donaldson robbed for sure. Great numbers and clutch in the right spots so far.

Another reason to dislike Detroit. Hope the Tigers make the playoffs so Oakland can get some sweet revenge this year. THey have been a thorn in our sides.

Who would have ever thought Bartolo Colon would be an All Star for the A's? Boy he was the nemesis pitcher for so many years. LOL Guy you love to hate til he's on your club.

I read Colon is pitching Sunday and cannot pitch in the game if that is the case it might open a spot, I hope Leyland isn't stupid enough to go down the list on that final five vote thing though. Grant really belongs, he's not going to have the career Eck had but he's been money for us for a long stretch now and really deserves to be an All Star.

This is just another case of general indifference to the West in MLB. Oakland deserved better in this case. Much better.
