Sherman could recruit though. johnny football, mike evans, that monster o line.

developing the talent was a different story. I think what the biggest problem and one of the biggest improvements with Sumlin was the strength and conditioning program. all those 2nd half collapses under Sherman the entire team was out of gas in the 4th quarter. Johnny was a fluke. Red shirted and probably wouldn't have started under Sherman. Sherman also didn't recruit a lot of depth - especially on defense (not like he had a whole lot of time to do it anyway)

Sumlin is good at recruiting flashy QB's and WR's. the rest are ok. I'd like to see a dominant RB. Carson was ok but not exactly dominant. Chavis is reeling in some pretty good talent on defense.

I agree that Sumlin could get another good job, but I'm surprised that there is as much turmoil as there seems to be at TAMU. When Sumlin coached Houston, things were pretty smooth.

Yes they did. Briles also left Houston well stocked with talent. And UH has stayed stocked. Hermann inherited some damn good talent and has developed it and put it together very well.

Big 12 South was the best division in CFB at the time and he took over a dumpster fire and played a lot of young kids. I prefer to use things like S&P, because it factors in schedule. Not all 9 win season are the same. I anythign I think Sherman got a raw deal at A&M
