There's still a month of regular season baseball to go, but there's a pretty strong field of AL MVP candidates right now with no clear cut guy (IMO).

My vote would go to Trout right now, though some people wouldn't vote for him because of the Angels' poor performance this year. In which case, I direct you to this.

It's not Most Outstanding.

It's Most Valueable.

There's a big difference. Not much value when a team is horrible.

Id have no problem with a Most Outstanding Offensive Player Award.

What value is there for any player on a last place team?

With them, the team is already in last.

Every year we go thru this. But for some reason nobody ever lobbies for a new award. When that's what needs to happen in order for the yearly WAR leaders to get their due.
