Yeah, I think its silly to say he is "Lazy"

Which means he would just rather not do it

Thats stupid....He is bad back there, but its definitely more technique and positioning than just being lazy

Yeah I wouldn't use the word lazy. Next year I assume he will be much better after working on this all winter

Free Swinging Orioles back to not scoring any runs again
They can get red hot and hit some homeruns like in August.

But, the complete lack of any plate discipline from a Buck Showalter style team goes nowhere long term.

29th worst in walks
13th worst in strikeouts, but mostly NL teams with whiffing pitchers ahead of them
24th in on base percentage

Not surprising the two teams with the most plate discipline are Cleveland and Dodgers.

If the Yanks hold on, they'll be 3 out with 19 to go for both teams. Here is the remaining schedule for Boston and New York.

Boston- 3 VS OAK, 3 AT TAMPA, 3 AT BAL, 3 AT CINCY, 3 VS TOR, and 4 VS HOU
NYY- 2 "AT" TAMPA, 4 VS BAL, 3 VS MIN, 3 AT TOR, 1 vs KC, 3 VS TAMPA, and 3 VS BAL

Yanks schedule is a little more favorable especially with this Rays series moving to NYC. My guess is Boston hold on but what I will say is I think the division will still be up for grabs entering the final weekend of the year.

Buck loves him some Scott Coolbaugh. I personally would rather have a well balanced team that shows patience at the plate and not a team of all or nothing power hitters. I'd love to see the ratio's of how many first pitches the Orioles put in play compared to everyone else.
Also, could you imagine how many strikeouts Chris Davis would have if he never got hurt? If he played a full season at the rate he's going (averaging a strikeout every 2.7 AB) he'd definitely be the all time strikeout leader by season's end.
When this team is hot, they look like they can go toe to toe with anyone in the league. But when this team is in a slump, they are brutal to watch and look like minor league teams could beat them on some nights.
Also, with the September callups, I want to know what in the world Buck was thinking putting Trumbo out in RF when there were four guys that are much more suited to be there (Hays, Rickard, Smith and Gentry). The only position I want to see Trumbo at other than DH is 1B.

Buck can no longer just hide behind Dave Trembley, Sam Perlozzo, Lee Mazzilli, and Mike Hargrove.
The Buck cult is based upon other guys sucking which is a stupid argument.

He is the guy who rewards a team that finishes usually dead last in walks, stolen bases, and OBP....while trying to set HR records.

All 9 guys, (including shortstop/2B/Catcher) go up to the plate regardless of the situation swinging for the Warehouse if any ball is within 10 feet of the batters box.

We put crappy defenders at those defense first positions and replace them with free swinging homerun guys also.

No one ever gets benched. No one ever gets asked to lay down bunts or choke up on the bat to make contact.

That is on Buck.

The only guy that got benched that I can think of was Kim. And the only reason he was played last year was because Reimold couldn't hit anything and Rickard was out hurt. So he had to eat shit and play him and Kim rewarded him regardless. So I think he must've gotten pissed at that and played him even less this year.
I'm definitely starting to get tired of the "Buck is a great manager" as well. This team needs a complete overhaul right now because with the way this team is built, they're not going anywhere. And with a lot of guys leaving in the next couple of years, the offseason is the perfect time to start a rebuild by trading Manny and getting a return for him because I very seriously doubt we will resign him. I'd like to see the future offense be built around Schoop, Beckham, Mancini and Sisco. But we both know Buck and Dumpster Dan won't do that but that's a whole different post.

Chris Young hitting 2nd tonight.. WTF!

Figures Mookie hits into a DP and then Hanley pops out... Should have had at least 1 run and yet they get nothing.. Red Sox offense sucks

Very solid performance from Eduardo tonight. A's have had a pretty solid offense in the 2nd half too, they're hitting .265/.340/.466 and averaging around 5.09 R/G since the ASB. Nice to see Betts explode too. Hopefully he's finally going to go on a tear.

Farrell just goes by the splits. Chris Young was 4/4 in his career against Sean Manaea coming into that game and had a career 1.014 OPS against Oakland.

Such a silly way to manage, but I guess it worked last night.

Yeah I guess so. Which is odd since Young is hitting what .098 against lefties?

I know he's under .200, but they shouldn't even go by that. It's not like he's striking out a lot vs lefties this year. He's not lost at the plate, hits just aren't dropping. His BABIP against lefties is an absurd .213. Small sample size and I expect he'll go back to being the above average lefties hitter he usually is.

Or he could just be done, one of the two.

Puts a smile on my face to see the Yankees twitter account is more petty than I am.
