So the opening day lineup will be:

Gardner
Sanchez
Bird
Holliday
Ellsbury
Castro
Headley
Judge
Torreyes

Bench:

Romine
Carter
Kozma
Hicks

Rotation:
The Elbow
Sabathia
Pineda
Severino

Bullpen:
Chapman
Betances
Clippard
Warren
Layne
Holder
Shreve
Mitchell

Looks like a 3rd or 4th place team to me, unless a shitload of things break our way.

That's how I feel, but if the Yanks feel they're in a good spot to make the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a few moves around the deadline to increase those odds.

Yeah, I do like what the Yankees roster could do. Don't think they win the division over Boston but can see fighting for 2nd with Toronto.

Yankees starters aren't scaring anybody but their bullpen should obviously make people cower in fear.

The Sox starters at this point are basically Sale, Porcello then cover your eyes. Rodriguez and Wright could be great and make the Sox scary as shit, but could just as easily both be unreliable and who knows how healthy they are. I won't start with Price because who the hell knows what's going on there. Their BP is good with Thornburg but until he's back they're stuck relying on youngsters. Promising youngsters, but youngsters nonetheless. Boston might be a team that stumbles out of the gate and then starts cruising (even though their schedule is actually predicted to be easier at the start and get tougher into the summer months).

I could see Happ and/or Estrada falling back this season, but it's okay because I can also see Sanchez becoming an ace and Stroman picking up whatever slack Happ and Estrada leave him. Not sure what to expect out of Liriano, or the BP other than that Osuna should cruise. Jays and Sox have a similar issue - their rotation depth is awful and if injuries mount they're both in serious shit.

True. The only person I trust in our rotation is Tanaka. Pineda is way too up and down. CC is alright but he is a 3rd or 4th starter at best these days. But if he can do what he did last year in terms of ERA then I'm good with him.

Our 4th and 5th starters will be shitty.

Should I take anything away from the Yankees great ST record? Serious question here.

I disagree, I'm actually more optimistic about the lower part of the rotation. Montgomery, Green, Severino, Kaprelian, and Mitchell all have more upside than CC and/or Pineda. Especially Kaprelian and Montgomery, who some scouts have compared to Chris Sale.

Yankees Opening day tomorrow can't wait. This can be a great couple of days for me. UNC plays tonight, Yankees tomorrow and if UNC win Championship game on Monday.

Lets go.

Bird and Sanchez are beasts.

You ain't gonna get breaks when you coach like a moron!!! As far as Sanchez hitting 2nd. Hasn't he proved himself a power hitter who could hit for avg.????? Wtf is girardi thinking???
