All 5 of these teams are currently on the outside looking in if the playoffs were to begin today.

Can any of them finish strong enough to get themselves into the playoffs?

If you don't think any of them will, that means the Bengals will still be squeaking in ....

Big zero here. Only team with a shot is Miami with Tanny and they aren't that good themselves.

that's kind of how i feel too ... i think the 6 teams may be set already in the AFC.
The seeding race is a lot more interesting than the actual playoff race. Bengals D doesn't look up to snuff vs the Steelers, but seems like the best of the rest right now in the AFC. Chargers, imo, are fighting a rather futile fight.

yep, the chargers seem to be headed for the #5 seed .... the nice thing about that is most likely the last division winner and #4 seed would be the texans .... i like the chargers chances in that one ....

Bengals would probably be #6 playing at Steelers most likely ... and the bengals would lose yet another playoff game.

Chargers might be a top 5 team in football and end up with the 5 seed. 4th seed in the AFC is gonna get absolutely boned by them as of right now, imo.

most likely the 4 seed will be texans ... could be steelers if they go through another slump. pats/chiefs should hold the top 2 when it is all said and done.

chargers most likely beat texans and i could see them giving the steelers everything they can handle.

I am not so sure with AJ Green's foot.

Seems like a situation where the 6th seed limps to the finish line. Still got the Bengals though. No way I trust the Dolphins, Titans, Colts, Jags, or Ravens at this point.

I can tell you o wouldn't want to be the 1 or 2 facing a fully healthy LAC team . That's a good football team

yep, they may be the 3rd best team in the AFC and they will end up with a wild card spot.

Steelers scare me more than the Chargers, tbh

All of the AFC teams are flawed on D, though.

I'm thinking outloud here so I have not voted

Starting with the team that's in...CIN...just doing the eyeball test...If they beat the Saints in week 10 coming off the bye this week...the Bengals will likely get to 10 wins and either claim the north if PIT slips up, or the 6 seed.

Anybody else on your list going to post 10 wins?

MIA/BAL/TN...best I'm seeing is 9-7

JAX...I think they have 5 road games remaining, could lose all 5.
IND...maybe 8-8

So, if CIN posts 10 wins they got it...if it's 9, they will have some company I think and tie breakers could sort it out.

I'm seeing the same thing in both conferences this year. Any of these playoff caliber teams playing each other...much like the Saints D yesterday...you really hope your DEF makes a key 3rd down stop here and there and maybe get a turnover or something. Aside from that, I'm not seeing the QB pressure to consistently dictate to an OFC this yr.

yep, in today's game, that's really what it has come to .... the team whose defense can get an extra stop or 2 or more turnovers is likely going to win. most offenses, other than the Bills and Browns, are seemingly going up and down the field and defenses are just hoping to get a stop or 2 to make the difference.

Even with Green ailing they have some firepower. Mixon is becoming a stud. Boyd has really come into his own, and John Ross is expected to be back after they just had their bye week. They'll need bit role players like Erickson & Malone to step up big time until Green gets healthy.

Maybe they give Dez a call?
