Going 140 in a 55.

What the hell are these athletes thinking risking their life, and others, like this. I would have hoped Ruggs tragedy would have stuck with these guys...

I remember being barely 20 years old and doing stupid shit too

There is stupid shit, and then there is almost going 100 mph over the speed limit.

There are levels of stupidity, and this just screams a complete lack of good judgement.

Completely agree. Professional athletes are great at reacting without needing to think at all. They're prone to have a lack of intellect because of that. Hopefully this was some street in the middle of nowhere that was void of any other car or person.

He was on 94 in St Paul.

I'd feel a bit better if you were right though, if he was on some small road in the middle of nowhere with his new lambo, but nope, he was on a highway in a major city.

they don,t take too kindly to that shit in the twin cities.my dad got stopped for speeding there and the cop gave him a hard time for going 10 miles over the speed limit then which was 65.

damn, the highways there are 55? If there were other cars on the road then he should get felony charges against him for reckless endangerment.

Had to be - I think they said he was pulled over around 2am or something, so definitely fewer cars on the road.

With rookie camp starting in less than a week, I fully expect him to be in some shit with the org.

Early twenties I drove through a radar trap on a country road at 135.
CHP said they were doing a survey / test of radar. (they were not authorized to use yet)
He asked if I knew how fast I was going.
I said, "How fast?" He answered 35 - I said, "keep testing!"

When you want your team to draft a WR who is really fast to go opposite your star WR, I guess you have to be careful and pretty specific what you are asking for these days.

2 am? Sounds like potential for alcohol to be involved...

Agreed and that was my first thought, but I can't find any mention of it.

The kid should be grateful that it was just speeding and no other vehicles involved. See Henry Ruggs and Jalen Carter for two recent, deadly examples.

No. It's 65

No it is 55. Right through the heart of St Paul where 94 and 35E merge where they knock the speed down for safety because of all the lanes, the merging and the entrances/exits.

In other words the exact part of the freeway where doing 140mph is the most dangerous. Even at 2am, he almost certainly had plenty of cars he was zooming by.

Highways are safer to drive fast on than some backroad. What do you do if a deer pops out and you're going a hundred?

I could see 140 depending on the car and how straight, incline, etc. of the road.

I'll take my jeep up to 95 and only stop there because that's basically the max that's still comfortable. Some cars are real smooth.

Well didn't see that. It would be safer in the day time. And yeah, as someone else alluded to, at that hour unless he slept all evening and was headed to breakfast, sounds like he'd have been partying/drinking.
