Best comments at the bottom:

"Semin also tried to change someone's tire...but he couldnt finish under the pressure so he drove off!"

"Mike Green actually tried to change the other persons tire but when he got the spare out he dropped and let it go past him and it bounced into the Potomac. What a donk"

That is a great story. As soon as i saw it, i was skeptical. You prefaced your's by saying:

"If you were not a Brooks Laich fan before you read this, I would guess that you will be after....even you hard core Pens, Flyers and Rags fans..."

I'll preface mine by saying if you hated Romo before the reading this, chances are you'll still hate him:

A fine Sunday indeed for Tony Romo | Top Stories | News from Fort Worth, Dallas, Arlingt...

Romo has always seemed like a good guy, not sure why anyone would hate him. Unless they're jealous of his hot girlfriends.

Thats a good story, really cool. I wonder why they left out the part where Laich was the one who slashed their tires in the first place.

On Versus last night they had the Junior Seau show on where he does odd sports jobs and it was one where he worked with the Capitals. It seems like they are a really good bunch of guys.

What's with hockey players coming to the rescue after losing Game 7? Sakic and his wife helped out a woman with her car after the Oilers knocked the Avalanche out of the playoffs in 1998.

It was so lame that I HAD to. Otherwise, if that doesn't work for you, I claim the Twinkies defense

I just found this link and had to use it. I should probably bring it out on myself, as I am very guilty of bad puns.

pretty sure it's because he's the Cowboys Qb.. nothing more, nothing less.

I just find it odd that the story is so similar to Romo's.. I guess it could happen, but i've learned not to believe everything I read over the years.

One thing's for sure, if Romo's story is indeed true, put him on the short list of starting NFL QBs that would actually take the time to do that.

If laich's stroy is true, he is to be commended for stopping after what had to be the most deflating loss of his career.

That is a good story, actually probably very odd it todays sport scene. Although I was at the NHL awards show red carpet last year and almost all of the players were signing stuff and shaking hands. There were really only 3 players who avoided the fans. Mark Messier, Luongo and OV. The kicker being Luongo winning the fans choice award to boot.

"We're just people too"

Nice.

You know, I've met more than my fair share of pro hockey players in my life, and I would have to say the overwhelming majority of them are like that. And it doesn't matter if it's a kid in the AHL looking for his shot or a star at the end of his run. They are usually just really, really good guys.

Messier has an historically mixed reputation with the fans, so that doesn't surprise me. He's no saint, but he did take the Stanley Cup to a strip club and a hospital.
