The Brewers loss to the Cubs gives Chicago a 5-game lead in the loss column. NL Central looks like it's going to the Cubs unless Milwaukee can win the next 3.

Rockies and Brewers loss, coupled with a Cardinals win puts 3 teams separated by 1 game in the loss column for the final NL Wild Card spot.

Twins win and Angels loss puts them 2 games ahead of both the Angels and Rangers who are tied at .500.

Dodgers win puts their magic number to clinch the division at 1.

Indians win and Astros loss puts Cleveland 2.5 games ahead for best record in the AL.

What a collapse by the Rockies, 4 dropped in a row. They HAVE to start beating San Diego.
Brewers still 1 back after losing in extra to the cubbies.
St. Louis only 1.5 back after a 4 game win streak.

Angels blew a huge chance to overtake the Minny in the AL wildcard race. Now they take on the Astros with a slumping Mike Trout. What a time for him to go cold.
Texas 2.5 back of the Minny like the angels, starting a series @ Oakland.

Tribe once again owning the longest streak in baseball at 5.
2.5 game lead on the Astros for best record in the AL. ONLY 1 game back of the Dodgers for best in baseball. What a slide for LAD. Remember when they were going for the wins record?

Here are the remaining games for the AL Wild Card contending teams.

Twins: 3 @ Detroit, 3 @ Cleveland, 3 home vs Detroit

7 games against Detroit, expect them to win at least 5 of them. Facing Cleveland late when they have clinched everything would be good, but it's not the very end of the season where they could be resting starters. You'll still get them at 90% and trying to get the top seed.

Angels: 3 @ Houston, 4 @ White Sox, 3 home vs Seattle

I expect Seattle to be officially done by the time the last series is played. So 7 straight games against non-competitive teams to finish the season.

Royals: 3 @ White Sox, 1 @ Yankees, 3 home vs Detroit, 3 home vs Arizona

9 out of the 10 remaining games are against teams that are going to be checked out/locked into their playoff position. Good for KC.

Rangers: 3 @ Oakland, 3 home vs Houston, 4 home vs Oakland

You would think 7 games against the A's would be a good thing. They've won 11 of 14 so Rangers are facing a hot ballclub.

I'm picking the Twins to take it, but I'm gonna say the Royals get closest.

I agree, Twins have the best shot to take it. Royals and Rags have a chance though. I have no faith in the Angels unless Trout somehow regains full form.

And for the remaining games for the NL Wild Card contending teams

Rockies: 3 @ San Diego, 3 home vs Miami, 3 home vs Dodgers

Rockies will be kicking themselves if they don't win these next 3 games in San Diego I feel. 4 straight losses to the Giants and Padres where the bats have gone cold. Plus, thanks to Cleveland, the Dodgers might be playing for something in that final weekend. But since the NLDS doesn't start until Friday, you can throw Kershaw Friday/Saturday and still get him extra days of rest. Rockies are in trouble.

Cardinals: 3 @ Pittsburgh, 4 home vs Cubs, 3 home vs Milwaukee

Cardinals have destroyed bad competition this month. 14-3 since August 31st against San Francisco, San Diego, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. The next 7 games are going to be games they are supposed to win. And finally we get a show down of 2 contending teams in the final week.

Brewers: 3 home vs Cubs, 3 home vs Cincinnati, 3 @ St. Louis

I'm rooting for the Brewers, but I think they have the longest odds. Cubs are going to want to really finish off this division early, spend a week locked into the 3rd spot in the NL, and prepare for Washington. They haven't played in St Louis since June. I think they go in there needing to take at least 2 out of 3.

Yeah they have the lead and play 6 against Detroit. I said 7 in the post, meant 6. Still should win 5.

Should be a very fun last few weeks of the season that's for sure. I just hope the Red Sox don't drop the ball since they already clinched a spot

schedule favors the rockies with mlk/stl playing each other and they get the reeling dodgers:suds:

The 3 worst teams in the AL are going to be playing a big part in this.

Also a nice race for the number one pick

6.26 IP/GS ~ 9.9 K/9 ~ 5.19 K/BB ~ 1.039 WHIP ~ 2.34 ERA

Best rotation and bullpen in baseball.
