Giants wasted good young players to acquire scrubs in De Asa and Byrd. Now the Giants will still miss the playoffs and now have less in the minors to bring up. What a fucking shitty series and season this has been.

If the Giants lose out, will they get the top pick?

I'd rather see this team fight for a playoff spot when it is in striking distance, and help the big club in anyway they can, than rollover and fold the season.

5-4, 2-1, 2-1.

The Giants could have swept. It was that close. Love the fight, just too many injuries.

This year for me was a wash. Didn't expect serious playoff contention with rotation ?'s and some other stuff, potential for injuries. # WS in five years, this season was just playing with house money, couldn't lose.

Sure, sucks to get swept and be 6.5 GB, but oh well. Plenty to be excited about for offseason

Jesus what a textbook season for showing how injuries matter. Freakin 2011 again...remember it wasn't just Poseygeddon, everyone was hurt that year except Huff, and he blew all year

The only injury that has killed us has been Pence. He is a huge difference maker for this offense.

I HATE losing to the Dodgers.

I hope this series puts some anger and fight in the boys. I am going to the game tomorrow against the Rox. Wearing my orange shirt and Giants hat, much to the chagrin of my son.

Can we ease off Bumgarner in September?

A lot of innings from last season to now. 6.5 GB. Could there be a comeback? Yes, but with injuries and rotation ?'s , seems a lot tougher.

Granted, what I'm saying doesn't matter. Slowing up his workload won't happen ever.

I actually think the team showed a ton of heart this series, especially the pitching. They kicked serious ass knowing they had nothing to help them from the bats. It was like the Alamo, fought like hell but got wiped out

I agree. They showed they aren't about to roll over after they easily could have after the first and second game, after Bruce got tossed twice and there was some bullshit separate umpire agenda going on. Still a whole month to play, and you know this club won't stop fighting till the end.

(Unfortunately, all that good pitching we just got is going to get annihilated in Colorado lol)

God it wasn't that long ago these guys had the best offense in the NL, and most entertaining....remember how we were marvelling at an 8 deep lineup? :tsk:

Let's not forget we just played one of the best teams in the NL, a consensus pick to dominate (along with Wash. of course)....LA is not a joke team. Serious pitching there. Pitching wins in the playoffs. But still, MEts have it too and then some. SOrry, Dodgers

I disagree, the other injuries have hurt too. Crawford being hurt has been a big deal. Tomlinson wouldn't have been too much of a drop off if only Crawford was hurt, but also losing Panik meant two subs. That meant Ehire "I can't hit" Adrianza in the lineup, daily. He has not helped, at all. And while Aoki is technically healthy, he hasn't been the same since his last stint on the dl. Pence was a big loss but he wasn't hitting that well when he went down.

After the loss that knocked us 6.5 games back of the Dodgers, I thought about how flat the playoff chase is in the National League. The Mets, Cardinals and Dodgers all have at least 6 game leads. The Cubs also have a 6.5 game advantage to the nearest 2nd wild card contender. Unless, we or the Nationals get hot, and the Dodgers and Mets cool down, this is going to be a real snooze fest in the NL. At least the AL East, West and 2nd wild card race have some drama to them right now.
