I know Cain scoffs at pitch count limits but why bother sending him out for the 8th?

Let the cleanup crew do their job

edit: unless Bochy wants to give him another standing O opportunity

Wow....12M per seems high now that I look at it, but is it unrealistically high?

I don't know. Center fielders, even mediocre ones, tend to be overpaid. I'd be surprised if he didn't get at least $5-6 million a year, especially with a weak free agent market. We'll see.

Would you prefer Upton over Pagan?

That dude's gonna get more action tonight than MSG after a close win.

Justin? Yes. Much younger, more power. Hasn't hit his peek power years yet. No way gets to the Giants though. He'll go to some AL team, most likely.

BJ. Yes, also. Is he a free agent in 2013?

+ 1

Bochy has 19 pitchers on the roster and a 6 run lead

Yeah. It wouldn't have even be a consideration for me. Hell, I might have pulled him after 6.

This easy schedule to close is making this season anticlimactic. Low stress, but a bit boring.

I do wonder if this is making both team and fans alike, soft.

Mijares breaker has ridiculous bite tonight. Quality arm picked up there.

That's my worry too. In 2010 we know how hardened the team became by all those one run games.

Not taking anything away from the Giants, great series, we needed it and we showed how good we are.

But let's be honest, that Rockies team they are throwing out there (No Tulo, no Cargo, etc) is not a major league club.

Games still count, loving it. But I'm curious how all the gelling will turn out in 3 weeks when we are hosting the Reds.

It's not a game to evaluate how good the Giants are compared to the best teams, just that they are good enough to lead their division going away.

Btw, these Rockies were taking out some of the other contenders with their eccentric 4man rotation on 75 pitches
