How a career .250 hitter with no pop, average defense, and minimal speed is considered a viable solution for left field for multiple years in the majors is beyond me...

Blanco? He's not "considered a viable solution" by anyone I've read. He's a good fourth/fifth OF.

If YP continues this type of performance, you have to wonder how hard the Gs pursue Grope. Or, maybe he becomes the 7th bully arm.

To allow LF to be a black hole for 6yrs is unacceptable for any organization, especially a storied franchise like the Giants

Im well aware of what they have accomplished in the last 3yrs. I'm simply stating that one shouldnt condone mediocrity at a position for more than half a decade because of recent success. Just because you win a title the year before doesnt mean you ignore glaring weaknesses in a stagnant offense.

When swinging at the 1st pitch, the Giants are 28th in MLB with a .315 average (the ROX are 1st with a .378 average)

The Giants have also hit into 31 double plays on the first pitch, which leads the majors.

The Giants are dead last in homers on the 1st pitch with 7 (Milwaukee has 35)

The Giants are dead last in OPS and SLG on the first pitch.

So, why, exactly, are the hitters continuing their remorseless attack on the first pitch they see?

You're starting to sound a LOT like HWSNBN. Let's take a look at your logical fail:

1. You have no evidence that anyone, especially Sabean "condones mediocrity." Our payroll is about $136MM. A good number, but not doyeresque. Given his budget and Melkys screw up, what should he have done?
2. You have no evidence that Sabean has "ignored" anything. He's the longest tenured GM in baseball. He's won two WS. He's dug out of the Barry years with the Zito albatross around his neck and put together two World Champions. I think he gets the benefit of the doubt regarding what he "ignores" and doesn't. Dude is pretty savvy and certainly is well aware of the LF situation.

You sound like RedSux fan who feels entitled to contention every year and if he doesn't get it then those in charge must be "condoning mediocrity" or "ignorant."

Pure, unadulterated :bullshit:

Put another way, do you REALLY think Sabean, Barr, Evans, and Baer all sat down in March and agreed "yep, the LF situation kinda sucks, but fuck it -- we've won two WS the last three years so let's screw the fans. Who wants a pina colada??"

Because that's how silly your takes sounds.
