And despite getting their clocks cleaned last night, the Boston rookie Owens was quite impressive last night. Got in trouble in the first, worked his way out, only giving up one run, and then went on to pitch four scoreless innings. Very solid debut.

Mets could be formidable. Maybe the best three-deep rotation in baseball. Duda is starting to hit again, after about a month long slump. The Wilmer Flores Story is made-for-TV-movie worthy, in my opinion.

Yep.. the pitching is amazin' (pun intended)....and I tip my hat to Sandy Alderson & the front office for not standing pat at the trade deadline, but also for not going overboard or giving up too much. The team & organization needed that jolt and shot in the arm...and it's showing on the field. TC suddenly looks a bit younger and less stressed too....lol.
I hope they ride that momentum all the way into the post season. (crossing fingers & knocking on wood)

That they did. With that said... I cringed every time a knuckleballer throws... Did it since Wakefield... It's either great or god awful

Definitely seems to be even more variance from outing to outing with the knucklers. That's what I thought was so remarkable about that great season that Dickey had for the Mets several years ago. I'm sure he had a few poor starts, but not many. Of course, he's never been able to replicate that season since.
