On the way out of The Jake after Game 1, I was telling every Yankees fan within earshot that The Indians scalped the Yankees' Wang!

Torre calls it his biggest ever mistake as a manager, not pulling the Yankees off the field when you released all those midges

One thing I will say about that is a lot of people attribute the Indian's win to the bugs, as if both teams weren't dealing with it. They were all over Fausto Carmona too, he just dealt with it better than Joba.

I'll always love Fausto Roberto Edwardo Juan Pablo Carmona Hernandez for the way he pitched that game. I think it was the best single game pitching performance of the 2007 playoffs. Even better than Beckette's CG shutout.

No doubt, Joba dealt with it bad, but he was unhittable that season, he was clearly affected by those fucks

And speaking of fucks, Fuck Fausto Roberto Pablo Escobar Jorge Posada Aurelio Rodriguez Carmona

I agree. Had the bugs not been there, it's unlikely he would have coughed up the run.

I just take exception when people think it was only the Yankees that were dealing with the bugs, as if they showed up for that half inning and then disappeared.

1. Yeah, love it. Fausto Carmona doesn't exist. Fake news
2. Wrong

1) I still call it The Jake, and I still call him Fausto Carmona.
2) I like Fausto's game better for two reasons. First, it was grittier - he gave up that solo dinger to Melky early and had no margin for error from then on out. Beckette was facing a weaker lineup and had run support from the get-go. Secondly, Beckette is a gigantic douche.

Maybe the Yankees should have bathed more. Sox had no problem with the midges that October.

I turned on a NESN game broadcast a week or so ago and it wasn't the same without him.

1. And I still call North America the New World
2. I like Beckett's better because he didn't give up a HR. And it's not like the Angels didn't have a good lineup. They were still 4th in the league in runs. I'd take Beckett's Game 5 performance in the ALCS over it too.

I didn't say the Angels didn't have a good lineup, but it was much weaker than the Yankees. Yankees nearly scored 1000 runs that year.

Regarding ALCS game 5, just no.

speaking of eck...

he had 390 saves, 197 wins and 6 seasons of at least 200 IP, along with a 20 win season.

the only person i can think of whos remotely close to those feats is smoltz...and he has 40% of the saves eck has.

can anyone think of another guy with 300+ saves, 190+ wins, 6+ 200 IP seasons, and at least one 20 win season...or is eck the only one?
