On second thought, maybe it's for the best we didn't trade for Betancourt.

Edit: I wonder how many three-run home runs the Giants have hit this year. Seems like a very rare occurrence.

Wonder no more, my friend.

The Giants have hit 74 home runs.

2 of them have been grand slams

8 of them have been three run homers

31 of them have been two run homers

33 of them have been solo homers

So Belt is 4-4 with 2 doubles, R, RBI, BB. since July July 25th he's hitting .340/.392/.447. So who sits when Sandoval returns Scutaro, Belt, Theriot, or Crawford?

What has gone virtually unnoticed is that Crawford has a +1.5 dWAR this season. No one else on the club is greater than 0.3.

For the most part, I think Theriot sits.

Agreed.

Oxy/Blanco
Scoots
Leche
Gerald
Panda
Herky
Belt
Stamos
POD

That looks like a deep lineup.

That is our best lineup (although I think Pagan should pretty much play every day). With Belt and even Stamos (.760 OPS in August) starting to hit, the holes are getting smaller and smaller, and there are some formidable hitters there. Hitting has become contagious here now. We can blow people out now, and we can come from behind.

Should be an exciting stretch run.

HUGE series up next. The Nats have their 3 best pitchers against our 3 best since the AS break. We see both Strasburg and Gonzalez. Time to see who we are and where we stand.

I missed the game today, were Belt's 4 hits shots? I see 2 doubles, but were they bloops down the line or shots in the gap? Can I officially start to feel that he's knocking at the door?

I am hoping he turns it around as well, but we have seen this happen far too many times in recent years, picking up a hitter who refuses to hit.Oh, he is now 7-49 as a Giant with that stellar FPOM.

With Pence behind him, why would ANY team pitch to Posey right now?

That's a weird turn of phrase. 'Refuses to hit'? If we get a guy and our pitchers park reduces his stats a little, does that count?

If Pence is a good player he will be fine. I think he's a good player.

Belt not a freaking chance. MAYBE vs tough lefties, then Posey plays 1st.

Scutaro > Theriot

It will come down to matchups, lefty righty pitchers, etc. Some days Craw, some Theriot.

Right now, I think a combination of Theriot and Crawford depending on a RH or LH pitcher, but who knows. It's a good problem to have.

:)

With folks getting healthy and recent pickups our bench looks pretty good now: Sanchez, Theriot/Crawford, Blanco, Arias, Pill (?)

Sure looks better than Burriss, Huff, Whiteside, Gillaspie, Nate/Blanco

Great win. They needed that with Washington coming in.

Nats run 3 really good pitchers at us this series. Gotta win at least 1. 2 is a huge success.

One single was a blooper. There were a lot of misjudged pop-ups by both teams because of the sun. In general, his cuts were gorgeous. He still has that hole in on his hands, but his arms are so long, I don't know if that one will ever fully close. He is getting quicker on that inside pitch, though, and when they make mistakes out over the plate, he is making them pay. Hopefully, the power will come soon, too.

One was a ground-rule double to LF that was sort of a bloop that hit a few feet fair and then bounced over the wall. The other (IIRC) was hit to the left-center gap. And one of the singles was an inside pitch that he got around on and shot into RF.
