Yankees also avoided Seattle's best pitcher. Thought Paxton might no hit the sox for a little while last night.

Darvish, Verlander, and Sonny Gray are all overrated and valued for their production in previous years. Royals may have grabbed the best starting pitcher available when they picked up Cahill.

Sonny Gray had sucked most of the season up until his last five starts. Four of those starts were at home where the A's have probably the best pitcher's park in the AL. He pitches in Toronto tonight. That will be a telling start for him. If he does well, Billy Beane's phone will be ringing nonstop.

Arlington's one of the toughest ballparks to pitch in. A career 3.32 ERA is awfully good and his career strikeout rate is 11 K/9 (though it's down to 9.7 this year). That's insane for a starting pitcher. If anything, I'd be more worried about him staying on the mound. He missed all of 2015 and missed good chunks of 2014 and 2016.

That's insane for a starting pitcher. If anything, I'd be more worried about him staying on the mound. He missed all of 2015 and missed good chunks of 2014 and 2016.

Yep. He was shut down with elbow inflammation in 2014. And there's always the risk he undergoes a second Tommy John.
