Game Rundown: The un-ranked Ducks host the un-impressive Stanford Cardinal at Autzen Stadium on Saturday afternoon. What is this you ask? Yes, a Husky posting a game thread for the ducks and Cadinal. Why? Folks this is the biggest game of the weekend and it comes to you from the PAC-12. The conference of champions. The ducks have been terrible all year and this is a chance for them to prove the east coast bias wrong. But the Cardinal suck just as bad. Lots are at stake in this game, both trying to not to embarrass themselves and the ducks are trying to get to somewhere they haven't been in a long, long time, well let's be honest they've been there before.

How this plays out: The ducks are at home in one of their biggest games of the year. Look for Helfrich to set things up in oregons' favor in the game plan. I see a close game early on and at halftime both fan bases might have a few more gray hairs, but I see the Cardinal defense getting to the young duck QB and making him frazzled. He makes one two many mistakes and the Cardinal boring style of ball puts the glitz and glamor of Eugene to sleep and pull away in the 4th quarter.

Score prediction:

Standford - 32

Oregon - 21

we can't score 32 points.. that's like 10+ field goals (and our field goal kicker is nails). mccaffrey, love, cryst will run wild, but we have zero redzone offense. shaw may not call a pass play all game. ol has been an issue and we've 2 starters out for this game..... keep punts away from mccaffrey and there goes 50% of our scoring.

haven't watched much oregon, but we are vulnerable to any reasonable passing game. if the ducks keep it on the ground maybe we'll see a 21-17 or 27-24 type of game. could go either way as we are not a very good team at this juncture....

none the less, should be fun and we'll see if there is any development of cryst at qb. a shame actually we cannot get a passing game going as we have decent receivers and that would take a crap load of pressure of mccaffrey.

in case you haven't see much stanford, here's how our offensive game 'plan' will play out

1st down. hand off to mccaffrey for off tackle run to the short side of the field
2nd down.. hand off to mccaffrey for off tackle run to the wide side of the field
3rd down... really exciting here... pass to mccaffrey flaring out to the wide side. should be easy enough to place a hit on him while he's still behind the los
4th down... punt or field goal depending on field position...

once or twice a game shaw will really go bonkers and have mccaffrey wild cat or an end around to rector. be still my beating heart .... don't worry, it'll be telegraphed via the formation so you won't be caught unawares....
