Technically, the DH does not have to be used on the pitcher. If a team so chooses, they can have the DH hit for the SS instead.

To my knowledge, it has never been used like that, but the option is there if the team wants.

Neither team has many ABs against the opposing pitcher and there is no ownage either way. Interestingly, DeRo has the most ABs vs. Zeets on the Jays roster, Herk the most ABs vs. Dickey (hitting below .200 though).

Wow...

I did not even realize DeRo was still in the league. So we paid him 12 M and gave him a ring so he could rehab and get prepared to play for other teams.
