It's not at all likely, but there's certainly a chance. Provorov is a monster, Ghost is going to rebound, Gudas is a tough customer and a few of our rookies could be really great.
This covers our defense which wasn't a problem last year it was our offense.

So thats my point exactly why get rid of Schenn for a scrub when we could've done some damage in the playoffs THIS year while our young kids are getting better every day.Instead we are back to middle of the pack team maybe making the playoffs for another three years at the very least.

Schenn doesn't make this team a threat in the playoffs IMO.

Uh, two first round picks? We don't really have a complete crop of forward prospects on the way and those two picks go a long way toward changing that.

Maybe Schenn didn't want to be here anymore and if he didn't want to re-sign, we needed to unload him.

I have always liked and defended Schenn. I was surprised when I 1st heard the trade. Looking at it now, he is no longer a top 6 on this team. Although he was excellent on the PP, he was bad at 5 - 5. He is gone and it time to move on. I, for one, am excited to watch Patrick, Morin, Hagg and maybe Lindblom cutting their teeth this year. TK and Provy in their 2nd years.

"Although he was excellent on the PP he is bad 5-5" .That explains Gee to a tee all while Schenn was on the rise and Gee is on the downfall.
I have moved on but people keep posting so i keep answering.

Uh two first round picks? Frost could've been had at 60 (2nd round) and next year we get a 25 -28 pick I dont see how that is good.

You honestly think G is a 55 point guy from now on?

If you do, I have nothing left to say because we're too far apart...Lol

I don't think Schenn is on the rise. He was going to drop on the depth chart as TK takes a larger role and with Patrick probably playing 2 C. I have no idea if he played at less than 100% last year, but he will still keep his value for another year.

How do you know Frost would've been available at 60? Lol Nothing shows or alludes to that.

The announcers at the draft said we could've had Frost at 44 and didn't know why we traded up to get him that they thought we traded up to get Tolvanen and were very surprised that teams had Frost on the board anywhere from 25-60

All it takes is one team to like a guy and draft him sooner. If we like him that much, I don't think it matters where we select him. It's whether or not we made a wise choice with him. That will take awhile to be determined, obviously.

That pick will be 25-28 probably at the very worst and also in a very strong draft year. Either way, 1st round picks don't just get tossed around like they're meaningless. It's often what teams are built around. Look at Shitsburgh, or dare I say Edmonton/Toronto.

Bottom line is we traded away an established 25 -30 goal scorer on the rise for 2 maybes.

There's a lot more to this than that one sentence. First off, he's a one-time 26 goal scorer, not an established 25-30 guy. Simmonds is the established goal scorer, not Schenn.

Tell me, how many goals Schenn has scored for us in the last two playoff series' that we've been a part of? Yeah, that's a guy we're definitely going to miss.

We don't know what is going on in the locker room here either or behind closed doors.

Regardless, Patrick is going to step right in and probably be an upgrade over Schenn almost immediately. Just watch. He's already bigger, better defensively and has a better shot.

Same can be said about What has Gee done for us in the playoffs??? Patrick is going to step in and be an upgrade over Gee. Patrick is already bigger and better defensively and has a better shot than Gee We are not going to miss him because hes still here we are going to regret it.

BTW Schenn 25 plus goals 2 years straight.

G is going to bounce back. It's downright silly to think he's done at age 29. And Patrick will not be our top center next season. That's equally as absurd.

Not to shabby if you think Gee is still playing in 2010

I know Patrick wont be our 1st line center next year but not because of his play but only because of seniority

His playoff numbers speak for themselves. He's been stellar in virtually every series but the last one. There's no disputing that if you look at his numbers. G has consistently been clutch and top notch in the pressure moments. He's no Mase.

This guy thrives on competition and he will absolutely be back to silence you.
