"The 49ers moved their record to 7-1 with a 19-11 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday. 49ers Public Relations presents the following notes from the Week 9 matchup.

With the Win***8230;
» Head Coach Jim Harbaugh became the 3rd rookie head coach in 49ers history to start 7-1.
» Harbaugh also became the first 49ers rookie head coach to begin the season 7-1 with a team who held a losing record the previous season.
» Harbaugh joined Jim Mora (2004 with Falcons) as the only rookie head coaches to lead their team to a five-game improvement from the previous season through eight games since 1970.
» San Francisco improved to 7-1 for the first time since 1997 and recorded their first six-game winning streak since 1997.
» The 49ers won their first 4 road games for the first time since 1992.
» It marked the first time the 49ers have won at least 4 games in a season with a 10:00 am PT start since 1990, when the team went 5-0 in those games.
» The Niners improved their overall series record vs. the Redskins to 18-10-1 and 7-7 at Washington.

Talk About a Defense
» The 49ers defense did not allow a rushing TD vs. Washington, marking the 8th consecutive game this season to not allow a rushing TD. Since 1978, when the 16-game schedule was implemented, only three 49ers team have not allowed a rushing touchdown in the first eight games of the season. In 1996, the 49ers defense did not allow a rushing touchdown in its first eight games. The following year in 1997, the 49ers defense did not allow a rushing touchdown in its first 10 games.
» Dating back to last season, the 49ers defense has not allowed a rushing TD in 9 consecutive games which ranks 5th in team history.

Run Defense Continues Streak
» The 49ers run defense has not allowed a 100-yd. rusher in the last 30 games, which marks the longest active streak in the NFL. Since the start of the 2000 season, the 49ers streak of 30 games without allowing a 100-yd rusher ranks t-4th.
