remaining schedule = ~bye~, @colts, DETROIT, @packers, @chargers, DOLPHINS, @jets, BILLS.

Given my new appreciation of the Patriots capabilities. I see them going 7-1. 6-2 with an upset mixed in there.

I think the Packers at GB is going to be the hardest by far. A loss.

Playing at Indy will be tough but I think the Pats are better.
Same with Detroit.
The Chargers are collapsing but they could upset.
The Dolphins hate playing in the cold.
Playing against at NY against the Jets (usually a tough place to play) won't matter because the Jets will have completely imploded at that point.
Bills by then.

It was a great win - but I'm kinda of torn on the defense. They did play with good speed and effort and the run defense was phenomenal. Looks like they played alot of big nickel again as base, which begs the question: Where was this run defense all season? - they looked like they were playing in sand the previous 8 weeks, in comparison.

The Pats were not ready to play in the sauna that was Miami in game 1. The Dolphins don't play in the cold at all before coming to Foxboro on December 27. I don't give a shit if they go undefeated until they come to Foxboro. When they get off the plane their nuts are gonna pull up so hard and fast in the cold, they all be candidates for the Vienna Boys Choir. You forget, we did not have a day over 82 degrees throughout the entire training camp. Even Belichick said that this was the worse weather that a team could prepare themselves in. No heat, no rain, no chilly evenings.....just a mild weather pattern. I didn't turn on the A/C after July.

Rodgers isn't the best foul weather QB either. He likes it warm and mild. If the weather in Green Bay is nasty, I'd favor the Patriots. Same if it's snowy or rainy. Green Bay will be a problem if the day is mild and windless.

Mother, a 12-4 record could be no playoffs if the losses are Buffalo and Miami. Watch out for Pittsburgh. Big Ben swallowed Peyton's prescription because they were opposites yesterday. I'm glad we don't play them this year. Those guys are becoming headhunters.

I have been to the last two Pats/Dolphins match ups in Foxboro and both were really freakin cold. Actually, two years ago was cold, last year was incredibly cold and windy. We froze our nads off.

Dilfer has lots of company in all the chatter after week 4. You could fill a dumpster several times over with everyone that was throwing dirt on the Pats.
that includes some of us.......*MM included*.

Decided to do a historical work..............Belichick has always stated that he wants the team to have continuous improvement from the start of camp until the last whistle. I went into the archives and looked at the Patriots after Halloween since 2000.

Team record is 89-23 or .791 The worst years after Oct. 31 were 2005 (6-3), 2006 (6-3), 2008 (6-3) and 2009 (5-4). 13 of the 23 losses came in those four years. I'm too lazy to check to see if there's a team with a better season finishing record that the Patriots but my guess is that they are pretty much the benchmark since 2000. On average the Pats have been 7-2 after October.

In 2014 they have to be 6-1 if they want hom field advantage

EXCEPT for NEhomer who gets to toss around a big old I-told-you-so!!!

That said, I'm bracing for a possible....I said "possible" let down coming off the bye week against the Colts. I would prefer that they got right back on the field this week.

With good reason imo or at the very least viewed the state of the Patriots with GREAT concern.

Even with the previous four wins I still wasn't convinced.

I feel better now.
we still got the 2nd half of the season to go.....with Miami and buff sneaking-up.....,....the division is our #1-priority.
