In all fairness, it was a catcher he chased down. But, a very athletic play nonetheless.

I love Bartolo Colon, but it's pretty amazing how inconsistent we are when it comes to treating people who have been caught doping with steroids.

So Joe Nathan is 40 yrs old, going in for a second Tommy John that'll require 18 months rehab and yet he's not going to retire? :wtf:

Yeah, I saw that. Some guys don't know when to hang 'em up.

It's got to be like drugs for some guys. Very hard to give up once you've gotten a taste of it.

I wonder if somehow this has to do with money?

I was thinking the same thing. He's due $10MM this year. If he retires now, he likely gives some of that away.

How the hell does a guy who's only played a handful of games have a rookie card estimated at $50,000? That's insane!

Sigh. When fans of opposing teams look forward to playing the Brewers, it can't get worse than that.

MLB's Franchise Four. Pick the four greatest living players. These are the 8 MLB.com has on the survey (with WAR), but they also have an option for a write-in vote.

Hank Aaron: 142.6
Johnny Bench: 75.0
Barry Bonds: 162.4
Rickey Henderson: 110.8
Sandy Koufax: 49.0
Pedro Martinez: 84.0
Willie Mays: 156.2

I would sell that thing as fast as I could. The value has nowhere to go but down no matter WHAT Bryant does in his career.

Why do so many people want more rules to prevent these "brawls?" Baseball is hanging on by a thread in terms of interest. At least incidents like this put a little action into the game. Most of the time these are harmless pushing and shoving matches anyway.

Rumors of baseball's demise have been GREATLY exaggerated. Check out this article showing how baseball has been "dying" for 100 years now.

I'd go Mays, Aaron, Bonds, for sure(in that order). Not sure about the 4th guy....

I can't see the video, but I am gonna assume it is about Bryant. The card companies started putting limited edition insert cards in packs about 20 years ago, and now they are the important cards in the hobby. So a high ceiling rookie will come along and someone will have a 1 of 1 card of him and the price will go crazy.
