My mind spits with an enormous kickback.
34 years ago today, the Pawtucket Red Sox and Rochester Red Wings played one inning to wrap up the longest game in professional baseball history. The game, which began on April 18 and was suspended after 32 innings with the score tied, 2-2, ended when PawSox first baseman Dave Koza delivered a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 33rd. Time of the game was 8 hours and 25 minutes, though the teams played for just 18 minutes on this date.
Hopefully tonight's PawSox vs. Red Wings game won't go another 33 innings!
