It is seeming to point to CB being a prime target.

Just hope Weidl puts together a board that doesn't have the Artie Burns' of the draft at the top.

Not saying he wouldn't be a good choice at the spot, he's got the wingspan of an albatross, but don't be surprised if they pick Porter.

I hate how tunnel-visioned this FO gets under Tomlin. Seems like its never a secret what the Steelers are going to do. Come hell or high water they are going to draft for the position they want, regardless of whether the best available at that position has a 2nd or 3rd round projection.

I just can't get on board with a DB... I'll gladly eat crow if necessary, but it just doesn't make sense to have this young of a nucleus on offense and to ignore giving it the foundation it needs to succeed. The only argument that I can humor is the fact that currently the crop of 1st RD OL talent is somewhat thin. Or the value can be similar if you wait until the 2nd or 3rd Rds. Even so, I'd still rather have an ILB or DL over a DB in the 1st Rd. The run defense has been a problem for years.

Hate to say it, but the drafting under Tomlin feels eerily reminiscent of the Bengals under Marvin Lewis.

Every year we pray for linemen. Every year we get disappointed.

Tomlin has some of the bad drafting traits of Marvin Lewis and Al Davis.

Kenny Dimes Pickett is the #2 most efficient deep ball QB.

What is everyone's expectations for day 1 of FA?

As for Steelers' FA's, I want them to re-sign Sutton, Ogunjobi, and 1 of either Edmunds or Kazee. Would love to see them find some OL talent as well if they don't plan on investing high picks in the draft.

Might finally see the end to Benny Snell in Pgh

^ Assuming the tweet was about Sutton being gone.
Yeah, it is. It shows up on twitter, but not posting right here, dunno.

That's a reasonable ass contract for a quality corner at an area where the Steelers already have a need.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go DB at 17 and 32, and even hit the pool again later in the draft.

They sure as hell aren't replacing that caliber of DB in FA.

Javon Hargrave got a massive contract with the 9ers, 84 mil, 4 years.

That'll buy a lot of steaks.

I am amazed the Steelers couldn't match that offer. But yeah it is now screaming DB in the first round and we all know how well that did them in the past.

At 17 Witherspoon or Porter Jr
At 32 Deonte Banks / Antonio Johnson / Emmanuel Forbes / Cam Smith

OL and DL starve again.

Essentially Ron Hextall using Bob Nuttings money.

Steelers haven't developed a DB since... Maybe Ike Taylor? Annnnnnd he's gone.

Can never have nice things lol.

So the analogy holds true. They went cheap and old.
