Uggg I didn't look at their d-core in complete detail until now.
If they put Petry and Maatta out there together they might have the slowest pairing in all the NHL. I have seen turtles move quicker than them two.

Didn't realize their core was that bad but it is awful.

I don't really understand why they felt the need to move Hronek (RFA) last year too. And then replace him with Jeff Putrid? Seem like they got older and worse for the sake of a couple picks and a million bucks. Picks are nice and all but at some point you need to compete.

Stevie Y did a pretty good job as GM of the Lightning which makes me wonder what in the hell is he doing in Detroit?

Waiting to draft Kucherov, Palat, Point, Vasilevsky, and Cirelli and then have someone trade him Sergashev for a bag of pucks shaped like Jonathan Drouin.

Catch lightning in a bottle like 9 times and being a GM is easy.

Also, have a generational 1D and a top 5 scorer already in place upon arrival.

Brian Burke inherited a great Rick Dudley built Ducks team and then Pronger decided to have a fling with an Edmonton weather girl and the final piece was acquired.

He signed Niedermeyer and brought Teemu back at least. And hired soon to be HOF coach Randy.

He also drafted whoever the hell Mark Mitera is 3 spots before Giroux went.

The first to sign. He had some good college numbers.

NOTE: I hope Dumbass can get O'Brien signed in Pittsburgh.

Hey @dash I guess the Flames are sitting this one out?

Didn’t know they had so little activity this offseason.

They have made so many mistakes in free agency over the last several years that I view it as a refreshing change. Give the young kids a chance to see what they can do.

At least you’re not an Islanders fan. I saw something the other day their biggest off-season acquisition was Julian Gauthier.

And my reaction was

Peter Holland, five years out of the league and trying a comeback.
Best of luck, but man... Long odds.

Archibald is a anti-vax sneaky dirty POS anyhow, in other words good riddance.
