i hadn't realized that Free agency is back on Jul 1st and the draft is only 3 days before.. damn that is a busy weekend for teams.

I am sure the canucks will be up to the challenge to balance drafting, trading and signing UFAS in a 3 day span. I do not lack confidence in them at all in handling this much this soon and not fucking it up more.

Good bet by Avs. Theyve essentially signed a second line centre for 2 years at 4 mill per. Not gonna find that on July 1. Just have to hope Nate can get Ryjo to lay off the fettuccine alfredo

Have watched RyJo for 2 years. Meh is being generous. Was starting to suffer from Kadridisease last year (phantom calls) too. Will be interesting to see how he bounces back off the season ending injury. cant afford to lose a step at this point.

I get why the Avs made the trade but if he is your 2C, it doesn’t bode well.

my hit list is now almost complete. Early last year I thought RyJo, Ekholm, Granlund and Duchene had to go. Only thing that will keep Duchene in Smashville (1 year max) is that pesky salary floor lol.

next 2 weeks will be interesting here. $20m of cap space and 13 picks……….

Yeah, that guy is just a whole bunch of meh.

Don’t hate the bet if it’s a middling team trying to find value but if you’re in a window with some big expiring contracts coming up the way the Avs are I think you need to swing for the fences right now.

And in an off-season where Lindholm, Backlund, Hayes, Bennett, PLD, Schiefele, Nick Schmaltz etc. are all probably available just seems like the wrong choice.
