Not saying he isn't worth a try. And even if he isn't your catcher of the future, at least Quero could be ready.

Yeah I was wondering why they brought in a not good 25 year old catcher after trading for Quero but he's the 2024 stopgap until 20 year old Quero is ready hopefully by 2025.

Looking like Texas may be trading Brock Porter and Sebastian Walcott for Scherzer. Prospect-wise that would be a stiff price for a 39 year old starting pitcher, no matter how good.

Andy Martino of SNY reports that Max Scherzer has agreed to waive his no-trade clause to go to the Rangers.
Martino cautions however that it does not mean that the deal is complete. There are apparently still some issues to sort through — not regarding which players are going to the Mets in the deal — but on the financial side. Stay tuned, as this should all be sorted out shortly.
