I didn't know much about Jones before today, but he sounds like good nose tackle and this is a home run for the Seahawks.

He's definitely not a nose tackle. Sounds like a defensive end who is a younger Shelby Harris replacement. I still think Seattle could target a DE (or Carter) at #5 but it certainly gives us some depth.

Seattle REALLY needs to address center though. We literally have nobody on the roster lol (Hunt? lol). If we're drafting Avila or Wypler that's fine, but I'm afraid if we go into the draft with what we have then it'll force us to take one of them earlier than expected.

He's listed as a nose tackle on ESPN depth chart for the Bronco's and he is referred to as a DT in tweets, like the tweet in post 283. Also Bronco's run a 3-4 defensive scheme

This is a nice pickup, definitely help upfront… We’re not done, just starting!

Hmm maybe but at only 280 lbs there's no way he can be a NT. Also on our depth chart (which of course is not final) he's already listed as a DE. Well aware the Broncos run a 3-4 (not to sound snippy).

I get he can do the DT thing too. I really wish Seattle would just go back to the 4-3 lol. Looks like Denver anticipated him leaving (maybe he was annoyed with the team performance or was buds with Harris) because they signed Allen who is basically roughly the equivalent of what Jones is.

Good signing - I also read it's only $16M guaranteed so if that's the case I'll give it an A-. If it's $25M+ guaranteed I'll bump it down to the B range as that's not a bargain by any means. Jones from what I've read is a liability in run defense, which was Seattle's major weakness last year, but that doesn't mean we can't pick up some better run stuffers later in the draft.

love it when they pick up "above average quality YOUNG" free agents. I have always hated these 29+ year old 1 year bandaids.
