Sounds like Krug is holding up the deal not waving his ntc

Flyers also on the brink of sending tony d back to Carolina

That DeAngelo deal is going to be so embarrassing.

Flyers trade a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for him, sign him to a 5M contract, then trade him back to Carolina with 50% retained for some no name prospect. 2/3/4 for the privilege of paying half the salary for Carolina. Ouch.

Not terrible I guess, have to move forward. But I would’ve liked to see them keep Deangelo until the deadline and see if they could get anything useful for him. Maybe the prospect will be decent, though Charlie doesn’t seem to think he will be.

So the waiting game continues. This is why I hate NTC and the NMC. It's not just the Flyers who love doing these in contracts. This D'Angelo thing irks me the most. CF was such a disaster of a GM. What a disaster Briere has inherited. I wish him the best of luck cleaning this up.

As I said in an earlier post, we're gonna suffer from the ineptitude of CF not moving Hayes, or DeAngelo and JVR at last years deadline. We have no upper hand for any of these players at this point. Our returns are going to be moderate at best, IMO.

Opening up some cap space and using it wisely while getting some prospects playing time is worth moving Hayes. DeAngelo equals epic failure. I was hoping to get back our 3rd for him but from what I have seen he may return a prospect instead.

Krug would waive his NTC to go to Boston. Gotta figure out a way to get them involved which wont be easy.

Probably will just wind up being Hayes to St Louis for a minimal return.

DeAngelo trade held up because of a CBA issue trading him back to Carolina and retaining salary.

Geez the trade was so bad it's actually illegal collusion between the flyers and hurricanes.

I thought that they have to wait at least 12 months to make the trade happen, i think it goes through in the next few weeks.

I don't know what the rules are, but it would make sense. Not fair to the other teams to have the hurricanes dump an expensive player on us then get him back for half the salary.

Really thought a deal with the Blues would go through today in some form or fashion...

I just saw something about July, so that seems about right. Flyers don't need cap space right now and it apparently did not involve picks, so no big deal in waiting.

Well talk about an underwhelming end to that saga. Would've thought Hayes would have more value than that at 50% retained. Johansen deal I guess is a good comparable, but still thought Hayes would get like a 3rd or 4th rounder at 50%.

Bummer.

Wow - flyers really wanted to be done with Hayes. I guess him playing 4th line minutes at $7MM was more painful than dumping him with a $3.5MM x 3 fee

At least getting rid of Hayes should give another young guy a shot. It looks like there are 2-3 openings for forwards and 3 for defense once TDA goes on July 8.
