I think that should be points, not goals (or maybe it's both :noidea:) Move over Big E.

The points record was Lindros', the goals record was Eberle's. That goal beat both.

He's an amazing player, but his in between period interviews...

"How do you handle the other team targeting you?"

<blank stare> "Pardon?"

<Awkward silence>

"I mean we just gotta get pucks deep and simplify..."

Bedard certainly looks like a franchise changing player - Of course, the same has been said for McDavid, but they have had a long line of idiots managing and coaching the Oilers.

That's why the Jackets should get him. Our coach is an idiot, but everyone else seems competent.

Playing goalie is expensive as shit and life in Canada is sucking any money for average people to put their kids in goal to other things, like Pokemon cards.

Not a mention of that in Travis' article, though.

This is a de-slidified Twitter thread from a goalie coach I follow with his suggestions on how to "fix" the "goalie problem" people seem to think Canada has.

I had no idea that some of the things he mentioned were happening. Like the notion of a #1 goalie at various levels and some select teams only taking one goalie. Both of those ideas are nuts to me.

And he is dead on with the comments about parity. Our JV team has that problem, there are 2 teams with a huge area to pull from so their Varsity crew is half AAA kids who didn't make Junior, so their JV teams are the displaced varsity players. They are winning games by double digits unless they play each other.

To add to it, one of the clubs here decided to create a third team that plays an all exhibition schedule to keep all their talent and make sure the other club teams don't get anyone. The way it's supposed to work is every club team has an area they are supposed to have first dibs on players from. High Schools that don't have enough for a team of players for just their school has those student go to those clubs. If you don't make your club, you go into a pool for the other clubs to select like a draft but based on lowest registration numbers first. If you go to a school with it's own team and get cut, the club in your area gets dibs and then you go into the pool. BUT - if you play for a club team that isn't your primary one you can choose that club next year regardless of any other considerations. Which is why this club is keeping players to themselves.

Long story short, that third club has 3 goalies in addition to the 5 for the other two (JV/Varsity) teams, while we have one. And my one doesn't listen because he knows he's gonna play no matter what. And after 3 or so goals in any game, he just stops playing. Meanwhile they have one guy not dressing at all for each of their games that don't matter.

43, sit down for this...

He was also named player of the month in the AHL. I've seen some Monsters games and he looks strong. Unfortunately has a tendency to go to directly at the puck which will get him on the wrong side of the play against top end NHL forwards, but he has been working on it and improving his skating. Him and Svozil have looked great at the tourney together. Could legitimately be a pairing on the big club next year.

@forty_three likes this...

HALIFAX — David Jiricek tied the game with 39 seconds remaining in regulation and Jiri Kulich scored in overtime Wednesday as Czechia came back to beat Sweden 2-1 and advance to the final of the world junior hockey championship.

Did a small dive on this Augestine kid. He is draft eligible this year.

Making a case for being a 1st rounder if numbers are accurate.
