Poor kids who were going to be eligible for 2022 thought they'd get a free trip to Sweden. Now they get to go to Edmonton again.

I was considering going back to Sweden for the tourney again this Christmas before all this shit came down (was supposed to be in Goethenberg)
Guess that will have to wait a few years. Don't think I'd do the Russia one (Novosibirsk) in 2023.

My dad is getting antsy to go back, as he's in his 80's and not sure how many travel years he has left.

You and your dad went to the one in Malmo, right? That's practically Denmark lol

yes, went with my Dad and (American) brother-in-law.

was really a tremendous time. Malmo is about the size of Victoria, and several thousand Canadians invaded it over the tournament.
tickets were super cheap (like $10 for two games), but beer was ridiculous everywhere. 12-15 Euros.

I recently re-watched the game, had completely forgotten that Connor McDavid was on the team (underage, used as 13th forward)
Eichel and Pastrnak were the stand-outs in the tourney.

If they had the Juniors in the summer like the 'regular' World's, I'd definitely go to Novosibirsk. But being there in December/January is a much tougher sell.
