Bummed we lost Fant... Jet's tend to enjoy taking our OL from us it seems...

That is a solid contract for Reed... Win/Win situation there... He gets to hit FA when he's 29/peak of his career and we don't have a to dish out a huge contract to him will retaining him...

Quinn just signed with the Bears... 5yrs/70mil... 12 mil yr...

Seems like we're the front runners for Clowney since he hasn't signed w/ anyone yet... As other DE sign w/ other teams, there may not be many teams remaining to reach his demanding salary... We may be able to get him for 21 mil or so...

That we haven't really spent much money so far suggests that they plan to resign Clowney and Ifedi.

Looks like we're taking a look at Isaiah Crowell... He had a solid year in Cleveland before he got hurt... He looked good/healthy in the XFL... Would be a solid addition to the roster...

Glad that Reed is coming back. His '19 wasn't good, but he was probably a top 5 DT or very close to it in '18. If we are catching him still on the way up, we'll be happy with that move.

I was hoping we could upgrade RT (maybe from promotion within, which is less likely now with Fant leaving), but not sure how we pull that off at this point. It may just be that we need to put some value on continuity and durability by re-signing Ifedi. Still curious to see what happens with Britt; maybe we can extend him and "flatten the curve" (sorry, couldn't help it) on his cap impact. I'm sure we would all be happy with an upgrade at some position along the OL, but bringing back all 5 starters may not be a horrible consolation. I know Duane Brown is the only one in that unit who would be considered among the top players at his position, but up to the point where Britt went down they were definitely in the "good enough" category as a collective unit.

Bulaga off to the Chargers. Time to accept we will have another season of offsides and holding calls at the RT position.

if the hawks can get Clowney back for say a 2-3 year team friendly contract with a lot of performance escalators i would be happy. This way Clowney has to say get those 8+ sacks to get a big boost in his pay.

Who are these 8-10 sack guys that will play for 10 mil a year? Ngakoue will get close to 20 and he only had 8 sacks last year.

Clowny is a playmaker, our defense is almost devoid of them right now. We need to keep him.

2 GUYS THAT COULD! not WOULD! Seems the average money going for DE so far ( still early lol ) is 9-12 mill per. so i don't see to many teams offering 21 to Clowney.

there are a few second tear FA guys that had 4+ sacks that could get to 8+ with more playing time and a bigger role. You do NOT need to go out and get the Big expensive guys to have increased production. Bennett was not that big a signing and neither was Avril.

also we don't have 2 guys right now that got 8-10 sacks, Green got 4 and Jefferson got 3.5 that's 7.5 sacks

As I said before, I express concern,” Heaps said. “If they don’t get Clowney, I think they’ve missed out on a lot of other targets that have already gotten swept up and it would be interesting to see what they do at that point.”

I feel the same way right now, They could have grabbed Beasly ( blah ) for 9 mill per season but nope. Either get Clowney done and start to work on some 2nd teir FA or we could be looking at a team that would be lucky to get 25 sacks in 2020.

I will be really shocked, and upset, if we don't bring Clowney back. I feel like they probably have a deal already and are just seeing what else they can do.

Sounds like we lost Quinton Jefferson to the Bills. That sucks.

Also sounds like we signed BJ Finney. Sounds like a depth player who can play across the line.

The longer he goes unsigned the more optimistic i am that we will keep him. If he was going to get a mega deal, he would have signed right away.

If we dont sign him, its more likely we give up our first and probably another pick for judon or ngakoue. Give me clowney and the draft picks.

Finney is a decent signing. He can play guard or center and we were riddled with injuries across the line with those positions last year. He did an okay job backing up Pouncey and he's 28 so there's a little room for improvement.

I think frankly it's our best signing this free agency (although we've had very little).

AM hoping Finney means they will cut Britt to get another $9M to spend elsewhere.
