How is that possible? I thought BYU had like a 6 year deal with the Armed Forces Bowl.

There are going to be a fuckload of bowl games with SEC and B10 tie ins who are going to end up with G5 teams instead. Maybe as many as 8 in total

Why?

If the games don't interest you, don't watch, but under no circumstance do you call for less football and want to ruin it for people who watch every bowl they possibly can.

I kind of like it because we get to see a lot of football in December before it goes away forever. And a lot of people have a lot of time off in December, so it makes for a lot of days/nights sitting around watching football. Once you get past the first week or so, there's P5 games that have interesting story lines.

It has gotten a little crazy. But I don't have a problem with that many IF the teams are actually willing to really "show up". It seems more and more teams really don't want to participate in the ones they qualify for and are just meeting their obligations and mailing it in. No emotion, interest, passion....more just going through the motions. That's what irks me.

Look in the stands for the bottom 20 bowls. hardly anyone is there. and TV viewership matches it. *** There ARE 1 or 2 games that are interesting. but 90% of these bowls are just stupid. no one gives a shit except maybe the players and their families who watch it.

Hawaii is apparently playing for the division and therefore could be playing for the MWC title. not sure if they would then be obligated to play in the Vegas Bowl.
if they lose then Hawaii bowl is likely

Given the travel costs, its much wiser for all parties to have HI in the HI bowl.
