If I see that damn Nissan commercial with the little girl who painted her tricycle black one more time I'm gonna go on an arson spree. Every damn game that shit plays at least 20 times

So far on my predictions:
Cavs in 5 over Pacers - won in 4
Toronto in 6 over Bucks - Raps in 6
Rockets in 5 over Thunder - Rockets in 5
Spurs in 6 over Grizz - Spurs in 6
Warriors - Purposely omitted

Series left:
Jazz in 6 over Clips - Game 6 tonight (3-2 Jazz Lead)
Wizards in 5 over Hawks - Game 6 tonight (3-2 Wiz lead)
Celtics in 6 over Bulls - Game 6 tonight (3-2 Celtics lead)

Pretty good so far. Thought Wizards would have had the series over by now. But the other ones were close. I also just don't like predicting sweeps.

So as part of the ESPN layoffs, they got rid of Marc Stein, Henry Abbot, and Chad Ford today.

HOWEVER, there are rumblings that this isn't so much a cost cutting measure like the other layoffs but instead they are clearing room for Woj. Expect ESPN to absorb The Vertical this summer

So with all of NBA's playoff scheduling, having the playoffs go for 2 months, having these first round series seemingly go for what seems like 3 weeks, here we are on a Saturday and there are 0 games to be played today......

Meanwhile tomorrow there is a 2nd round game on and a 1st round game on......

I believe the NHL playoffs went 2 or 3 days without a game between the 1st and 2nd round. It's going to happen in the playoffs.

And there's really not much the NBA can do about the schedule. They're not going to have teams play B2B in the playoffs so I don't think there is a huge issue with giving teams 2 days off once in a series. It doesn't make much of a difference.

For example if a series that started on April 16th was played on every other day and went to 7 games, the series would have ended last night. So basically you're talking about a difference of an extra 2 or 3 days at most.

Also the NBA obviously prefers to start their 2nd round on Sunday or Monday rather than a Saturday where the ratings may not be as good.

What I don't like is the super long layoffs midseries that sometimes occur.

I am pretty sure it was Spurs/Thunder last year that had 3 off days. That is crazy. Should never happen.

Don't have a 2 month long playoff. I mean that is almost as long as the CFB season within itself.

Round 1 should be back to best of 5.

Games should be played every other day with the exception of changing venus, then have an extra day off.

Yeah I agree. Just looked at the Wiz/Celtics schedule and if the series go 7 then they will have 2 days off 3 times. That's a little ridiculous

You do realize under your system you're making the playoffs even longer starting with round 2 right?

Let's take the Cavs/Raptors series for example and use your format

It would be played Mon>Wed>Sat>Mon>Thu>Sun>Tue.

This is 2 more days longer than the NBA current schedule for that series.

I just don't get all the bitching about how long the NBA playoffs is. Do you have something better to watch? Seriously. Who cares.
I could do without the multiple 2 day breaks in the middle of a series. One is good enough IMO but after that I'm completely fine with the NBA playoffs schedule.

When you have a 16 team playoffs which means 4 rounds of best of 7 series then your playoffs is likely to take 2 months. The NHL playoffs is very similar

If it was possible I wish the NBA could drag out their season into mid July. Sports is terrible in July and August. The only thing to watch is baseball pretty much so I love it that the NBA playoffs is 2 months long and finish in late

The NHL playoffs began on April 13th last year and finished on June 12th.

The NBA playoffs began on April 16th and finished on June 19th.

Also should be noted that the stanley cup finals went 6 games and obviously the NBA finals went 7 games.

the NHL doesn't have a pre determined two super power teams that everyone is just waiting to see face off for the 3rd time.

You're bitching about the length of the playoffs so bringing up a possible Cavs/Warriors rematch is relevant how?

If you have such an issue with the NBA then I would advise you to stop watching

Please don't act like Warriors/Cavs aren't going to happen.

Ruined league ratings, ruined league interest. Even Silver himself wants these super teams to stop. It is killing the regular season and most of these playoffs. Ratings prove it.

Where did I say it wasn't going to happen?

The league ratings are fine. Wasn't game 7 last year the most watched game in ABC history. Actually the finals last year was the highest rated finals ABC ever had.....yeah the NBA ratings are an issue lol

If you're a true NBA fan, it did not ruin the regular season at all. I enjoyed it. It was probably one of my favorite NBA seasons in a very long time....if not ever.

I'm sure the league is very concerned about what a third straight Cavs/Warriors finals will do to the ratings.

The seven game series averaged 20.1 million viewers for ABC making it the most-watched NBA Finals since 1998.

Not talking about last year. Check ratings for this NBA season...way down.
