I think the whole OL/RB debate is a chicken or the egg debate.

If Dalvin Cook or Christian McCaffery is available. You take them.

They are smaller raw speed guys. Granted thats a shit ton of speed. Cook has fumbling issues though. He would still be an improvement over AA. McCaffrey has a better running technique. He reminds me of a smaller faster ZZ. Not enough for me though in round 1 on these guys.

Fournette I would take in a heartbeat. He is special. Otherwise, I still like Hunt later in the draft. He just has so much more to offer. He is not just running in empty space. He looks like Marshawn Lynch to me. Lets face it. We need a guy that can break tackles.

RB's fumble from time to time. Cook is a rare talent too. One of my favorite players in the draft. You might want to look at Cook again because he is a lot stronger than you think and breaks many tackles.

McCafferey has elite vision and is also deceptively strong. Also has elite return game ability. I would be very surprised if all three weren't first rounders (Along with Fournette). Unless one of them runs in the 4.5's in the forty, all three are worth a selection at #21.

I still prefer Adoree Jackson at the top of my list though. Peppers would be sweet too though.

An every down linebacker would be real cool.

Quin can pick the round. And handle the specifics.

I wouldn't throw a walleyed fit if McCaffrey was the guy.

Pretty sure Denver will take him. I think they have to. He's a legacy!

Seeing a lot of mocks where we take Dalvin Cook at 21.

Possible. I have seen him go in the top 10 or as late as the early second round.

As much as I want defense. Lions should run to the podium if Cook is still available to us at 21.

I watched the game. Hunt looked really good and came in down a few pounds.

Maybe Zay Jones is a bad route runner, maybe he is slow, but he is big and catches everything thrown at him and makes it look easy. Next Anquan Boldin... 5/6 rounder...

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline relays that most of the scouts he spoke with during the Senior Bowl practice week are viewing USC CB Adoree' Jackson as a first-round pick.

Pauline passes along that Jackson is being viewed as a "lock" first-rounder in many circles. He does not believe size concerns will ding Jackson too much, though the former Trojan star is expected to measure at 5-foot-10 come the NFL Scouting Combine. Not all are convinced on a first-round selection, though, as in mid-January, an area scout told NFL.com's Lance Zierlein that he sees Jackson being drafted in the second round. Jackson could be used in a variety of roles once he hits the NFL Draft. He is as dynamic of an athlete as anybody in the pool.

2017 NFL Mock Drafts : Mock draft 2.0: Bills, Giants grab Round 1 QBs

PICK NO.
21

DAVID NJOKU
TE
MIAMI
GM Bob Quinn appreciates the benefits of having two athletic tight ends after spending so many years in New England.

This is a pretty deep draft at TE would hate to see us grab one early. Maybe grab Engram if he's still on the board in the 3rd

I would have to lose all faith immediately if Quinn made this Mini-Millen type mistake. NEVER draft a TE in rd1. I don't give a shit how athletic he is.

TE is one of the most worthless positions in football.

OL or defense. Maybe McCaffery or Cook. Those guys are way more valuable than a TE.

I would take a WR before a TE in round 1. Still, I would take neither. DT would be good. We will be short there with 3 of the 5 being FAs next year. Not big on taking LBs in rd 1 unless its one of those pass rushing 3-4 guys which we dont use. OL would be first if our guy is there although I hope we address it in FA.

Exactly, might as well just pick up Ebron's 5th year and at least have an "OK" TE for 2 more years than waste a 1st rounder on another one.

I'm so far away from agreement on this, it's not funny.
