Definitely noticed Cory too. He made some key saves all game especially in the first.

damn bout time we get a win... lets get one right back. lets go!

couldn't see the game but looks like we played well with the top line.

Read that Hayes wasn't too impressive. How was Zajac? I didn't get great nor bad reads about him.

Nico has excellent hands and vision.

Zajac had a pretty decent game, scored an ugly goal early, outside of that that line played adequate. Hayes and Stafford were invisible. Zacha should be in the lineup over one of those guys.

Agreed that Zacha should play but also not sure what he is confused about. He is too inconsistent and does not use his size every shift.

I do like Santini played last night over Lovejoy. Santini will not contribute offensively to this team, so he really has to be steady defensively to earn a spot in lineup every night. Especially now that we have Vatanen.

And don't forget with the eventual return of Mueller.

Zacha will be a healthy scratch again. Whatever this dude is doing wrong he needs to figure it out asap. The opportunity us there, he's better than guys on the team, he's ckeaarly missing something here.

Something else must be going on, either in the locker room or in practice.
If you listen to the message, Hynes says consistency and toughness when talking about Zacha and what is needed.
The other day, I saw in an article Hayes mentioning that Zacha needs to use his big frame.
I do agree with both of them. I see Nico throwing the body and going into corners more than Zacha.

Not to be default blame here but if Zacha were on lines more capable of being offensive, think we'll see a change?

It's a tough argument to make when you see a guy like Gibbons putting up goals.

yea but Gibbons and Zacha are two different styles. Gibbons also is 29 yrs old right? he has more experience than a young/learning still Zacha.

Gibbons knows his role and is excelling at it beautifully for us. Zacha is behind but does he have the right help to grow?

But i get it he needs to do it himself... besides I don't think he's playing that bad, he's been having good games before.

No effort in that first period. I guess hand the Rangers the win.

I'm going to gag saying this, but the Rangers play with a passion and intensity that the Devils have been lacking for a few weeks now.

No energy, No effort.

Severson has been bad. Not progressing at all in our end.

Not only a loss... an embarrassment... I think that is the worse I have seen them all year....

Things I am tired of....

Nico falling down every play he is out there... my god this guy is good, but like paper... a guy skates fast past him and the wind knocks him over....
'
Zacha last night was awful.... How many shots did he miss or not take... he really pissed me off last night...

Team looked like it was standing still against the Rags.... plus the rags everything went their way... every puck came right too them, every lucky bounce, everything... combined that with our terrible play and I'm not surprised it could have been 8-2....

They need to wake up, we are giving points away and the metro is way too close to not be competitive this early on.... Hayes needs to get them going because the last two efforts have been horrendous....

Also, didn't hear everyones thoughts on Henrique trade?? I was kinda surprised... I always liked Henrique and was sad to see him go... and judging from the last two games played... I miss him now.... hope this wasn't a mistake....

I still think the Henrique trade is a good one. He's been hot since being traded but was invisible the entire month of November and completely underachieved last year. Give Vatenan some time to adjust.

Is there no spotlight on Zajac yet? the guy is killing us offensively...

I mentioned in the '17-18 lineup thread... although Hall-Nico-Bratt is juicy, I suggest splitting Hall n Nico to offer continuous offensive attack... it's not like that line is avg. 2-3 goals a game.

Hopefully Mojo has gotten his legs back and can add that secondary scoring we desperately need. Zajac or Zacha need to step it up and lockdown that 2nd line center spot.

If we can tread water until Palmieri is back I think our offense will fall back into place.
