Gawd, that was awful.

I knew there was no chance to win, with two true freshmen starting on the OL, I just knew whoever was at QB was going to get killed. But Swoopes just has zero fight in him, no 'moxie' or whatever you want to call it.

I want to be mad at the playcalling, yet, it's hard to really get a picture of it, because the offensive play was so disastrous.

When Heard came in and had that little mini-momentum moment, I started to feel a little better: then he went out, and the moment was gone.

Oh man, just hoping that was the darkest dark before the light.

Time gentlemen, time. I understand it was ugly, but you cannot expect him to turn this around in one season. We can vote in 3 years.

I'm afraid he won't be given that time though. I'm not saying I think he is THE ONE, but I fear what will happen if the program goes the "win now or pack up" route. I've seen what a revolving door does with other teams, and it's not pretty.

Revolving door worked just fine for Auburn. Fired Chizik 2 years after winning the NC when he went 3-9. Malzahn takes over, plays for the NC in his 1st year. Auburn still pulling in top ten classes, and they have nowhere near the resources we have. Don't forget, "We're Texas". Amirite????

They got lucky with Malzahn. Auburn was not in free fall, shit show mode like Texas was in Mack's last year(s). One anecdote with different variables doesn't a proof make. Anyway, they didn't fire Chizik until after his 4th year and a pattern was becoming evident. Don't confuse the facts.

Also, to clarify, in an earlier comment I meant that we wouldn't be able to attract quality COACHES to our program if we go to a "chew them up and spit them out" model, not players.

It has been one game against a potential CFP team. I'm not ready to get crazy stupid and talk about firing people. Strong is doing what he needed to do at the end of last season, and that's a positive step forward.

Yes, we ARE Texas. We're better than this panic spiral.
