"2014 Mock Draft - Steelers War Room"

Hey guys. We are doing a Mock Draft on the general board and I think you guys should come be apart of it. Come check out the thread and see if your team has been taken yet:

And if they have, don't worry, I'm sure the person picking won't mind coming to the team board and discussing picks with you. The team boards will be like the war rooms for each team. This should be very fun for everyone. Many boards have done this before and it was a great experience. Especially if you love the draft, this is something you should for sure check out.

I signed up for the Steelers... Lets get a "war room" together on this thread. Not sure when they are holding the draft but here are some basics:

1. Draft is all 7 rounds including compensatory picks. We have 10 picks.
2. No trading players for draft picks
3. 2-3 hours per pick

Yea that's basically what I'm gathering from it... They haven't decided on a date yet, which is frustrating. I might have to get someone fill in for me if I'm working or in meetings.

But we should start throwing down position wishlists per round like so:
Rd 1: NT
Rd 2: DB (S preferrably)
Rd 3: WR
Rd 3 (Comp): DB (CB if not selected in 2nd)
Rd 4: DE
Rd 5: ILB
Rd 5 (Comp): TE
Rd 6: O-Line
Rd 7: DB/WR
Rd7 (Comp): DB/WR

Then we can start discussing players per round... Just an idea?

Ok...so positions by round, or players...I'm going to work on this evening.

As you might be able to tell, I work on a computer 5 days a week and most days have time to log in here a few times during the day, and certainly after 6p...so I should be able to step if you're traveling.

These are needs not rounds we have 10 picks I believe:

1. Defensive Line Help (two sides to this coin DE/NT, both from ND)
2. Safety with ball skills can cover the TE, ideally taller 6'2" and above to compliment a smaller saftey playing opposite, whether Troy or Shamarko
3. Elite WR or TE with elite ball skills
4. CB with ball skills
5. OLB depth (might up/move down depending on Worilds/Woodley situation) if they loose both much higher, if they keep one stays same, if they keep both much lower
6. DB depth
7. RB combo back/kick returner, dexter mccluster type
8. ILB depth (smaller in Spence mold)
9. WR depth (Assuming one was selected earlier)
10. Punter

So they have told me that if everyone before you has picked before your time slot then you can go ahead and pick... So we may be able to pick as early as tomorrow, but no later than 1pm EST Wednesday. Make sense? I have no clue as to when the 2nd round starts? Or if it just continues on right after the 1st? I'll try to keep you guys posted

Also, nobody has answered me as to whether or not we get our comp picks because they have yet to be officially determined by the NFL. It may just be a straightforward 7 round draft.

Bad news... They got rid of the comp picks... And I forgot that we don't get a 3rd rounder for the Shmarko Thomas transaction at last year's draft.

So we get 6 picks... 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7
